are all these spl cars street legal
like can they be registered or they just for show
and
who owns australias loudest street legal car what db does it get
would be good if i could get some pics to
Michae1
Most SPL cars are daily driven and registered.

The big boys like Rippeds wagon will be flat out driving another 5ks in its lifetime its that far away from RWC.

My guess is that Brads Cartunez Mazda is the loudest registered car in Oz at the moment (158.8db)

sif, all we need is a new fuel tank and some seat belts and seats and we'll be right smile.gif
rodizle

Festiva just passed the pits, RTA inspection and roadworthy.. daily driven baby wink.gif complied for the wall too. Oh, and its the loudest car stereo ever metered by the NSW Police.. and NSW EPA department. I have the court papers & fines to prove it.

Do you mean the original INCARAUDIO, est 1992 in Qld or the one opened in Sydney in recent years?

The Sydney Incar's Excel matched Car Tunez 323 at Gold Coast Auto Salon this year. Bear in mind the 323 had two 15s and four 1200W amps, the Excel has four square 18s and 16 amps.

The Windsor car isn't streetable by a long shot, they trailer it everywhere.

BlackIce
143.8 playing Static X - Stem @ 3/4 volume.. they were quite excited about it all, then booked me anyway.

They were quite disappointed the exhaust only hit 88dB.

I know that..................smile.gif

And it's 6dB off the SS3-4 class record.

I'm only crapty at them because of the look they gave us at GCAS this year. They asked Brad how loud our 323 was, he said 158, they gave him a "f off wanker" look.

Tell me about it, I asked if I could have a look inside the car and they told me to F Off.. Nice.
I think Andu beat them with his NW setup too ?

Exactly, let's be honest; The whole point of a shop building a big, badass show car is to get work, is it not?

1. It has a mod plate to covert it to 2 seater

2. The seats bolt in fine, that's how we drive it

3. It gets driven nearly every day

Phil
Michae1
Phil, who do you get the mod plate through, QLD Transport or a approved RWC mechanic/engineer?
DD Phil
Engineers such as RUSS.

So Brads car really would pass a DOT Inspection? (Even not being able to see out the rear window?
Michae1
Scuby, can commercial vehicles like vans see out their back windows when there is a pile of boxes in there? NO

Can semi trailer drivers see out theire back windows enough to make a difference? NO

So long as you have 2 side mirrors fitted, you dont actually need to be able to see out the rear view mirrow or back window. tongue.gif
Scuby_snax84
yeah i thought about that b4 i posted but i thought commerical vehicles might be designed with wider mirrors to allow for this. i know semis do. And i have seen how much trouble Brad has reversing it too.

there was a van themed ice age at the brisbane auto salon that held the record at 170 odd dbs

Um i think you might have been mistaken. The Van in mention AFAIK was the Crossfire van? Crossfire do hold a record of 170db but I don't fink it's in Db drag. I can't remember which format it was but it was one form the US.

176.4

It was in USACi, dash..

And i seriously doubt it was at BAS, since Mike's van is Blue .. and is still in the states as it competed just over a week ago for World Finals..

The USACi WR is now 180.5dB held by Scott Owens of Pioneer..
hurl_m
The ice age van at Autosalon was a show vehicle, merely advertising the world record for Crossfire. The van itself does not hold any record.
DD Phil
Also Crossfire forget to mention that DD woofers were used to set the record. smile.gif

In their brochure he stands in front of the DD logo on his van. smile.gif
