Marc
Australian distributors of TREO Engineering, OZ Audio, Qmax and Waves Car Audio have released their Oz Audio demo car, a 2004 Toyota Echo, just in time for the coming Brisbane Autosalon event.

What looks like a rocket launcher ready to take off into galactic cyberspace, is a great effort when the entire transformation from a standard echo in family trim took place in less than 80 hours.

The concept of the project was "In Your Face" and that certainly has been achieved.

The subwoofer enclosures in the rear are constructed from cardboard tubes, joined together with nuts and bolts, and then reinforced with MDF front and back plates. Of course copious amounts of fibreglass tie it all together for eye candy.

A floating amplifier rack was manufactured to hold four TREO Engineering TSX75.2 amplifiers that drive 300w RMS into each V12.3-2 12" OZ Audio subwoofer. 1200w RMS of rocket blasting punch!

Up front two pairs of OZ Audio V650S3 Vector component speakers are driven by yet another TREO Engineering TSX75.2 amplifier. 120w RMS @ 2 Ohms being pounded into each of the front doors.

For listening pleasure up back at the car shows, another set of OZ Audio V650S3 components are mounted up top, bring driven by the TSX75.2 at 75w RMS @ 4ohms.

To keep up with the duties demanded by the audio system, Odyssey have come to the part with a deep cycle battery.

To jazz up the outside of the Echo a little, 4" of ride height have been removed. 16" Vault Jade wheels with 40 profile tyres, as well as simple graphics have transformed this Echo into the first stage of being the official OZ Audio demonstration car for Australia.

Many more upgrades are planned for the Echo, and with only 80 hours spent on it so far intime for Autosalon, we can't wait to see what's in store for it down the track.

The Components:

Source Unit: Pioneer AVH-P5750DVD Multimedia
