i have searched through the forums but wasn't able to find a thread with a similar problem

i have a pair of focal k2 165kp and i am trying to decide whether to mount the tweeters right next to the mids or up near the windscreen near the factory position.
i dont think i can mount them in the kicks becuase there isnt enough room on the drivers side.

i will be making some basic pods to hold the speakers behind the door skin and i'll have enough room to add the tweeter in the doors as well, as you can see in the pics.

i can't really install the speakers until i have the pods made, and im not sure if the tweeters would sound best there.

from your experience where would you recommend to install the tweeters, in the doors or in the far corners of the windsreen.

It's nothing that blue tack and 15 minutes worth of spot auditions ain't gonna find out wink.gif
In your shoes, the first spot I'd audition would be right next to your mids.
By the way, good job on the SD too biggrin.gif

make sure you try the kick panels too. And not just pointing at you, maybe off axis too.

I have had my tweeters in a mixture of in the kicks, and up top of dash. The dash raises the soundstage a hell of a lot, which is good. The kicks is also good, as it lessens the problems of time allignment.

Which is best? Go dash if you arent competing in SQ comps or you have time allignment. I don't really think either one is better than the other. Even I am undecided as to where to put my new setup!

kicks, or close to the woofers in the doors.
Reduces problems with path length distance
Reduces problems with separation from mid-tweet
Stops harsh reflections and comb filtering effects bouncing high frequencies of glass.

Blu tack 4 the win

err.. you cant change the time allignment between the mids and the tweeters. Or do you mean use the alignment left to right??
