Hey,

I recently bought some Alpine speakers and a Alpine head unit from Northfield in Nundah. The advice I need is on the installation aspect. They quoted me $620 to:

Install the Head Unit
Install the Front (6in) and Rear Speakers (6 x 9)
and connect it up to an amplifier.

When I first saw the total I thought he was being a bit rich for the amount of work they had to do. He was talking about putting the speakers on timber panels and fitting the amp on a board. I have heard they do really good installations and have seen pictures and real life installations on the cars they have worked on.

The question I really need answered is it worth to spend the extra $$$ on a top quality installation to receive the optimum sound/ bass out of the speakers or does it really matter if I get the same install for half the price down at WOW Sight and Sound?

Any personal stories or comments would be apprectiated especially if you have dealt with an install through Northfield.

Well you wont get the same install for half the price buddy.

If they are making panels for your speakers as well as your amp of course its going to cost that much and even though i dont know nothing about that car audio store i dare say they will do everything thats needed to get the best out of your equipment.

The equipment is only as good as the person who installs it unfortunately and there will always be someone cheaper to do the job, but dont whinge that the product is crap when the cheaper job doesnt allow the equipment to function to its full potential.

let roger and the boys do the job since you bought hte gear from them.
if you think that the price is a bit much send me a PM. ( I won't be much different in price.)
I have my own opinion on wow S&S which I'll keep to my self.

what car btw?

hey man its a VN Commodore( its real tidy though) recently bought off an old fart who garaged it and kept it in top condition.

Yeh i reckon that price is abit too much but like the guy who posted before you said they will be doing everything right to get the best sound out of the system.

Once you have installation receipts worth more than the car it's in come see me about expensive...

Sounds like a good price if they're making panels for your amps and/or speakers as said by StreetSoundz smile.gif

The guys at Northfield Nundah do great work. They did my Lancer. They do charge a bit, but for the work they did, it's worth it.
