Whenever i talk to people, i am amazed at how easily they are shocked by what seems to me, really simple and obvious things.
What shocks you?

everything shocks me, coz im normally off in my own little world! lol
like when im cooking in the kitchen james has to make a lot of noise as hes coming out of the bedroom or i jump and scream and stuff lol... :/

eh...doesn't seem i explained it enough..
i meant.. say the things that you have heard that shocked you the most.
ie.the people next door were serial killers, Bali bombing, your mum is a man etc etc.
The reason for this is i'm trying to compare myself to other people in how easily they are shocked, for the reasons in the original post.
The more you are in touch with the real world I think the less your are "shocked" at things

September 11 shocked me as I am sure it did most people, I was at work at the time and someone rushed out of the canteen and told me what had happened and I told him to stop spinning **** .
But not alot else shocks me so to speak.

Yes, it really shocked me that they cut Bathurst short to show some extended news to show it...
September 11th, shocked me...
I go the old sony head unit installed on september the 12 or something, and it was the only place i could go to where there wasnt a tv news type thing going on about it, and when they powered up the radio - it was blaring on there too...
But apart from the media's complete lack of priorities, nothing much shocks me

Well the fact that channel 10 coverage of the F1 is just as bad as Channel 9 shocks me, they were promising the world, yet fail to deliver. Bring back Alan Jones hahaha.
Everyone is bought up different and if you dont know anybetter wat shocks one person is quite normal for another. Tv has deshocked lots of things soo what was thought as shocking 10-20years ago is normal these days...

Done both of those, ouch. Also remember to turn of an appliance at the powerpoint before replacing fuses - I didn't and it gave me a shock and switched the circuit breaker for the whole house

oh what? no way, they're doing an excellent job! all well and good having alan jones there, sure i loved it on channel 9, but im without doubt more interested watching it on channel 10 with bill woods and neil crompton, from a technical standpoint and behind the scenes type of setup its excellent
oh what shocks me? freaking velour seats in my mums pulsar and wearing silk/satin boxers when im in it, without fail every single damn time i get out of the thing i get shocked

Well ok, sept. 11 shocked the crap outta me, I was in tears that morning.
Lot's of little things shock me from time to time but nothing that really stands out in my mind coz I just think "oh...ohh ok" and then I'm over it. If that makes sense?

Did anyone see the Bomb disposal expert in Germany gettin' blown up on the channel ten late news last night (Thurs. 10/7)???
They had a robot go in and inspect it, then they sent the disposal guy in to disarm it and it detonated with him leaning right over the package....scared the **** out of me thinkin' that all the worlds news showing this guy getting killed...
in the space of a second there was this guy in the thick yellow suit and the black handbag - then just a huge fireball - I guess he was vaporized instantly - didn't know what hit him.

Nothing much shocks me... The internet has been a very good tool for desensitisation.
Over my years of internet i have seen so many clips of people getting killed, weird sex fetishes etc that none of it "shocks" me anymore...
However the terrorist actions Sep11 and Bali both did shock me... Especially Sep11 as it just seemed to come out of nowhere, it was all that anyone was talking about for days.

dsiconnecting the negative terminal on a truck battery using a metal shifter and turning it one cm too close to positive
also when jacks fail on your car when your under it, i was in so much shock that the pain took a day to come, ambos rocked up and im smoking putting the suspension back in and coughin up blood, it shocked them too!
