Posting this for a mate.
He just replaced his mast with an Aerpro one and the white plastic stuff on the end of the mast is about 6" longer than the factory one.
Anyway, when the antenna extends or retracts, when it gets to the end, the motor keeps driving/retracting it and you hear a series of clicks for about 3-4 seconds.
Is there a quick fix for this?

was it model specific to the vs? sounds like it isn't.
I replaced the one in my VP about 18 months ago, and have had no probs. everything fitted and works perfectly - except for the mounting bracket (slight modification

)

Sounds like part of the plastic cord is still stuck in the motor. Does that mast go completely down???

Yeah goes all the way up and down, just when it gets to either of them it does the clicking noises.
My solution is to build a small antenna control box for him thats timed.

did you pull the motor out and apart? to me it sounds like there is still a scrap still in it.
I usually clip off a small bit of it at a time till its right but on a proper antenna for teh car you shouldn't have to.
I didn't install it, he did. I havn't had a look at it.
I'ts been about 3 years since I last had to do one. I'll look into it myself then and see if theres anything inside it.
Cheers fellas
