Yeah, but at 0.5Ohm they would be smoke machines instead of amplifiers. D2's do 2000Wrms at 2Ohm, wouldn't run them any less for daily driving.
And what do you consider to be cheapish? 4000Wrms for cheapish, you'd be lucky to get away with it for under $2000 for second hand equipment.

Just save up and go out and buy a DD Z1 amp.
A z1 amp is not 0.5 ohm stable.

A z1 amp is not 0.5 ohm stable.
the one i had was running 0.25ohm daily. it only shut down when driven hard for long periods. i'm confident it will be fine 0.5ohm daily.
epsilon 2500d or 5000d's will also be good choice. the 5000d isn't strapable but is fine 0.5ohm all day as shown at BAS.
The one i had heated up majorly during testing with a half ohm load so im talking from experience.
Was the one you had modded Ripped, because i heard they do require mods?

it was out of the box standard. it got hot @ 0.25ohm as well, but still you'd be able to listen to it for a good while before it protected.

One or two eaudio 3000D's would do the job well.

I don't know of any amps that are rated for 0.5 ohm continual use??
Any amp that really makes 2000Wrms will cost you at least $1500 or more.

The only amp I know that is rated to run 0.5 ohm stable all day is the Lanzar Optidrive 2000D. Car audio & Electronics magazine in the States benched it at 2000rms at 0.5 ohm with no heat or shutdown issues. The amp is not strappable though.

I ran a Z1 at .5 from Cartunez on the coast to Autoshowdown at decent volume for most of the drive and it did get warm but not enough to cause it to protect at all.
And it was also quite happy burping at .5 ohm
shouldnt have any probs with an Eaudio at .5 either.

They werent imported by any shops, VL_commy off here imported them himself.
He has since stopped importing them, so the only place you will find them is the 2nd hand market.. Theres a "Mobile Electronics" For Sale section on here and they pop up fairly often.. Usually selling for around the $900 mark.
