Was wondering if anyone knew where the screws where located on a VT door?

I need to take a look on the inside cause of a rattling noise which I believe is a clip off the window that had broken.

It is the front passenger side. The window is electric.

If there is a guide somewhere with pictures it would be great. I like pictures biggrin.gif laugh.gif

umm i dont know exactly where they all are, but ill do my best (been a few months since i pulled one off tongue.gif )

usually they arent too hard to find - look along the bottom of the door trim and on the sides - might be a couple along there

behind the plastic covers on the actuall handle there is usually 2

around the air con vents - have to come off

have to pull the lock "knob" off - the red bit comes out, and the knob will come off, then there is a screw behind it.

after them, there are plastic clips that hold the trim on, and it takes a little force to get them out, it sounds like they are breaking when you pull them out (make a popping sound) but dont stress too much - but dont use excessive force, and the top just slides down into position (so youll need to push it upwards once you have pulled the clips out along the bottom and sides to remove it...

Three screws down the bottom on the underside of the trim, there is one screw around the speaker grill area.

Around the door handle you undo the handle screw and take it out completely you will find another screw inside.

The Lock/Unlock tab you use something small and sharp and lever it out up the top in the middle the remove the tab, there is one screw behind there.

Unclio the little A pillar plastic trim. Remove the window handle if you dont have electric windows.

Two more screw on the outside of the door trim undo these and then pull the trim slightly out and push up hard for it to unclip.

When putting it back together make sure you put the little L shaped plastic back in its spot or the trim will never go back on properly.

Thanks all biggrin.gif
Managed to get it off.
Getting it back on was a bitch with that L shape thing.

Looks like the arms that hold the glass up, one of them was only supporting the window. The plastic for the regulator had snaped off. Got replacement parts from Holden, $2 a plastic, now I have to figure a way to get the rivot out and replace it.

drill it and replace with another rivet, too easy.
MrAsia
It's the large rivots
Sword
same deal smile.gif just need a decent rivot gun to do it smile.gif

aahha try doing 4mm stainless ones... they are a bitch (and broke our rivet gun sad.gif ... not suprising really seeing we couldnt actually get em to pop using hands, and about 30 or so later)

if u use aluminium ones it shouldnt be a problem.
