Hey guys,

This isnt directly related to SPL but after the same desired outcome.

I know batteries have had a bit of discussion over what brands however, im currently building a car with hydraulic suspension. At the moment there are 4 odyssy 1000's which are pretty crapty.

Not holding charge (1yr old) and require charge after about 2 hours use. The Delko's i swapped in for a comparison destroyed them, however due to the size, it doesnt leave me much room for the pumps/solenoids.

What im after is a high burst rated battery. Due to the hydros drawing a fair amount of current each burst. A large capacity battery but they cant be too big i need 4 12v batteries as the hydros run off 48v and the solenoids off 24v.

If you guys could throw some other 'exotic' brands other than powercell odyssy optima.

If optimas are the best option ppl can give then i will have to go them but just checking.

Personal experience would be great! as ive found going off ratings with batteries can be a bit squif when put in a practical situation.

cheers.

how much current draw are you chasing? (in A/Hrs)

I know of a company that MAY be able to help.

Kinetiks are the best on a cube/capacity/output ratio but they're still on the way........................

I've used a lot of "Remco" lately, they are great. The 120a/h rrps for around $400.

Absorbed power make a 150a/hr item. used in the brissy city cats specifically the new ones. cost is under $400 each.

as far as current draw a/hr its going to come down to the size of the battery which one has the greather capacity in the smallest footprint as there are 4 of these + the pumps which are mounted on steel brackets above, + the solenoids + 6 12's and 5 amps and a processor so im getting a bit low on room.

cant find a CCA rating on the 110ah remco's Phill? i got a price of $265 for the Rm100

and $299 for the GT12-100c in the absorbed power range.

Not cheap but definetly worth a look:

way too big, not commercially avainable, need to fit 4 to get 48v.

We use nothing but Lifeline/Concorde at work.

They make some 1975 CAA, 255 AH bangers, bit large however. Should be something in their range to suit.
