Hey fellow g33ks.
I know nothing about novell.
At my work we have 2k domains that we logon to. Then we have a server that isnt part of the domain, it is novell 4.11.
I want connectivity with the novell server when it needs it. So I need novell Client.
However, I don't want the Novell Login Screen coming up on boot - I want it as the standard windows 2k logon screen.
Can anyone tell me how to do this ? (on win2k machine)
Cheers!
Mick

I am using client version 4.83. SP2 If it matters. I have searched around the net and can't seem to find anything.
If you guys don't know, would you know a place I might find out?

Ummm under Novell Client Properties - advanced menu settings - theres a Enable Login Dialog option that can be set to off? I dunno don't have time to fiddle and test but maybe worth a try...

I have done this in a previous w/station build at work but now someone asks how its done i cant remember.
It was on a laptop so that when your not connected to the network you can still get in and when you need network access you just double click the N icon in the sys tray.
I think i may still have that build stored on our server ill have a look at the settings for you and see if i can pick it out.

Yes i had a look!
I couldnt find that build im guessing it was deleted.
The best i could find was this:
-Go into your Client config options
-Advanced Menu settings
-find cancel Desktop login and set it to on
-find enable login dialogue and set it to off
-find require initial logon and set it to off
-then right click the Novell Systray icon and select config systray icon and set the double click option to netware login.
This will do similar to what your asking but you have to cancel the novell login screen at boot up and then login using the sys tray icon.
Im buggered if i can remember what we did to get rid of it.
It might even be server policies causing the disable login dialouge setting not to work.
anyway ill keep looking.
hope this helps a bit.

FINALLY I found the build stashed very well away heres what you have to do.
First copy all the Novell client install files to a local Hard disk.
Then open NWSETUP.INI in the client setup directory.
Find a paragraph called [PrimaryNetworkLogon].
Change it to NO.
now reinstall the client from where you copied the install files and reboot.
This will stop Novell from being your default Login GUI at boot up.
Then just set up the settings i said in my other post and you should be right.
