those are the batteries used up north on stations and such, recharged by big sola pannels they provide the 240v to run houses etc via big inverters.

westernpower used to provide them to places to remote to run power to.

when i stayed on a station they had a setup kinda similar but not as big, thats probably for constant power, sometimes the power had to be turned of during the day for the batteries to recharge from being used all night they probably still do!.

I dont kno how its connected at the far end but the banks are wired in series and 2 banks together.
Even if they are about 1-2V batts there are 12 in each bank and at least 2 banks 2 gether giving a minimum of 24 batts in series...
And for SPL!!!! using a single run of 2- 1/0g between each HA!

Nice pics anyway...

hahaha i'm right now trying to grab some off a friend of mine who has a big solar setup just want the one 2v cell! the joys of being in the trade.
series with alotof 12v battery's in parrallel i recon i got myself a fairly cheap battery setup...

just read that they are in fact 2V batts, 6 or 8 inseries and uve got a monster battery setup for a car.
i imagine tho they are better suited to higher capaacity longer lasting(RC), rather than high current discharge(CCA???) needed in SPL.
im not battery head so ive got idea... just a thought.

ive got acess to similar abttries if any one is keen they are from a sub station, we repalce them every 5 years no matter what nick they are in, we have banks of 2v ones similar to ambove and we ahe some LARGE 12V ones id sawy aboutthe size of 4 normal battires and about 2000CCA
Andu
The pintara had 8 batts that fit the same dimensions, weight & look of the 6SG200. Great for SPL! I imagine the 103kg ones are even better biggrin.gif
BlackIce
I know a dude in Italy with 2 tonnes of 'em in an EXT2 van tongue.gif

how many of us are electricians?

nice batteries by the way

I do work at the national australia bank data centre.

They have 12 rooms with over 600 batteries in each room.

In the telstra exchanges, they have, at every single exchange, at least one setup like that...but think 3 times bigger.

Most places have more than one setup, too..and a massive diesel generator in the back room besides.

i just want 6(2V). so i can run my audio gear at my house...
