man, i know B&O have a huge rep. but to pay over $1000 for a phone that doesnt play mp3's or have a decent camera is a bit dodgy.

Its pretty cool but $1k for something that looks good - i mean you can get a prepaid starter pack with a better phone function wise. That said if it was a bit better priced - ie upto $450ish id get one cause i dont use my phone as a camera and i dont use it as a media player the only things i do with it is alarm phone calls and SMS and my phone is nearly always on silent so "mp3" ring tones and that type of jazz dont bother me

If you know something about B & O, you know that they couldn't give a stuff how many people can afford it or what the market value might be

They operate very much on a "if you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it" basis, hence why the Bang & Olufsen section of David Jones in the city has about 8 full-time staff and rarely one customer in there Don't think you can pop in for a browse and get away with too much.

U buy the design, B&O has the coolest plasma TV, CD player and home phone. I'm saying the coolest, doesn't mean it's the best in term of performance. But seriously, nokia has an even madder phone (price wise), Vertu anyone??

A friend of mine has an apartment that was fitted out with a full B&O setup about 20 years ago, which they bought off the owners when they moved in.

Cost about $30000 back then according to receipts.

The phone is pimp. My favourit phone was the Nokia 8850. That thing oozed class at the time.
