Hello all.

Been looking to upgrade my current mobile, a nokia 6310 with CARK-91 installed in the ye olde sikma.

Head unit is a alpine 7842 which has a connection for head unit muting. Not sure which way it throws, but it works with the CARK-91.
The head unit then feeds a three way electronic xover for front/subs and a direct rca connection for my rear fills speaks.
Amps are two 4 channel alpines, mrv-405f and a 300, I think. Not really important. But they feed from RCA's from the x over.

Been talking to a couple of mobile phone dealers who know squat about the hands free kits.

I need one that will shut down the stereo, connect to an external antenea and charge the phone as a preference. Currently the CARK-91 has it's own ext speaker under the dash and pillar mike.

So, what kits are there out there that will do the job? From that I can then work out what phones I can buy to go with it! I don't mind spending the dosh on something decent!

My alpine headunit came with an entire swag of feautres (with an adaptor sold seperately) that suited nokia phones. You could even browse the address book and place calls from the headunit. Playback over the stereo.

Might want to look into that, see what phones it suited/adaptors it had.

so what phones are you looking at? may help.

i think for most nokia's you can get the phone kit that charges, can use an external antenae and all phone kits ive seen have the stereo mute.

not entirely sure which ones do or dont have the support.
