what I/O does it have?

Congrats on owning such a fine deck. I myself have been using a HX-D2 for quite a while (I could not even remember when I installed the deck) and I found it be the an excellent SQ deck with great features.

Install it, tune it and enjoy using it!

Cheers,

Bon

Just a quick question. I was looking at the latest info on the Hx-d2, and it says you are able to hook up an Ipod to it. I got mine earlier this year, but not sure whether it can take the adaptor. I don't have an Ipod (though my best mate told me he bought me a 60gb one) but if I do would my unit be able to take it? There is nothing in the manual to suggest it can.

MattyP,
Not sure about your question but a side note: I think it would almost defeat the purpose of having the "R2-D2" (nice one Rob) because of the apparent - I say apparent because Im trusting others' experiences - drop in SQ

Edit: And going from whats in your signature, your system would sound stunning so why hold it back?
tuneman
the only inputs are the standard aux rca inputs a CeNet input/output which i assume is for a stacker and an optical which is both a input and output

from all the reviews i've seen there is a adapter for an ipod mentioned so i guess there is one! but i actually congratulate clarion for not putting anything on the unit for mp3' as really, it would completly defete's its purpose it was never intended to help kick along the marketing hype behind the whole mp3/ipod craze..... just to be the best cd transport!

mind you i never bought it for a sq deck! i just wanted a decient deck without the all the crap that i never use sounds as good as its going to get and dosent have a flimsy feel to it... simple

its a pity about the remote though sad.gif im tempted to ring there head office and demand they me make one that dosent feel like its for a $120 sound4 deck!!! its absolute crap for some reason they must think nobody uses them any more.
oh and it replaces my trusty never failed tough as all crap 8 year old pioneer DEHP736 deck which had the best remote! even if i am on my second one biggrin.gif

try swallowing RRP$4K for an alpine F1, only to have a very standard remote that you find with a $400 model. rolleyes.gif

Very nice big fella!

I hope to see/hear it in action soon!

Have you sorted out the rest of the system yet?

If you guys (Shiney and yourself) aren't happy with the remote you should have bought a Pioneer P9 Combo.
They have a remote that is specific to that model! tongue.gif
(The other ones will do the same basic functions though)

Haha, good to see you've joined the club.
Mine's currently installed in my wardrobe while I wait for my car.
May end up being there for a while as well (at least another 6 months).

Whilst I bought it for features and its reputation for SQ, I really appreciate its simple facia and lack of "surplus" lights when most others out there are light shows that happen to come with a free stereo...
