We do all DD rebuilds in house, having us do it is the only way to ensure that 100% genunine parts are used. We have all parts in stock including 0.5 and 1.0ohm coils for the 9900.
Simply send the woofer to us or take it into any DD dealer they will handle shipping.
In Melboure, see our newest dealers Tower Audio.

will handle .25 for burps... when you set the gains on the e's you need to be carefull or the amp will not like you and neither will the subs...

http://www.carsales.com.au/pls/carsales/...rch_distance=25Make sure you get an Aussie 2 seater, I've seen nice ones as cheap as $6000.
A CRX would be 10dB louder than your car at least, we got 149 from the same sub and less power than you have in a standard DD box (off our website) just by dropping it into a new Colt, CRXs are louder again.

CRX is not only louder, but way faster than Barina.

The CRX is a hoot to drive.

to true. crx= great fun to drive.
However, I've found a Mirages are louder than CRX's (they peak so high). Also the 93-96 Galant is louder than my crx by about 0.4-0.6dB (both peak at 53hz).
But then i've got a dodgy crx

We received your woofer late on Monday, it was shipped back to Tower yesterday.
All going well you'll have it back for the weekend.
Rebuilding the 9900 is a nightmare! The only way to take them apart is with an angle grinder.

In order the re-use the cone, about an hour's grinding is required, while wearing a full gas mask. The glue used to build them is that tough.

A new 9900 cone runs to around $400, so it's definately cheaper to re-use it!
Phil
Shieldsy
Dec 16 2005, 03:48 PM
dang phil! they must be importing drugs with those cones...
thats where the added strength and cost must come from.. the 99 cones are laced with heroin.
can i ask what glue is used phil?
BlackIce
Dec 16 2005, 06:32 PM
Locktite Prism 480.. I mean.. "DD Glue". Dah

But seriously grinding ? WTF ? You use Selleys Kneed-It for adhesive on those ?
DD Phil
Dec 16 2005, 06:43 PM
There is no other way to remove it.
It is a cyanoacrylate type glue, once cured nothing will dissolve it that won't dissolve the cone etc.
The 9900 cone weighs stuff all, yet I can stand on one no problems. It is a composite of foam and Kevlar laminated with epoxy resin, cured in a vacuum bag in an autoclave. This is the same process used to make F1 cars, space craft etc. Nothing is as light and strong.
