in the house? blink.gif

and I don't consider $500 each or whatever "cheap ass" these are $95 12inch subs...

lets see your two 10's get anywhere near 140dBs in a BIG ROOM off 500watts each, in MUSICAL boxes...
APS
Why not? they will outperform your $95 12's by the same amount as they are worth when applied in the same application.
Charger
Why are you here, the people on Termpro don't care, nor do we!

oh, what was that? you only did 140dBs in the car? with the same subs? oh well smile.gif
Charger
Yeah, except I don't make threads about it.

Burp your boxes at 33hz and tell me what you score, mate.
APS
140db in a car the size of a charger is an awesome score nonethless.

I dont think people care how high your numbers are.

The fact of the matter is you have never done a decent number in a comp yet you still mouth off.

Whats wrong you finding it hard getting past 140 with decent gear? You gota termlab now where are the friggin numbers.

Stop yapping i can fart louder than 140db.

well, I'm aiming for 140dBs at 38Hz... so at 33Hz, they might do 135dBs in the house smile.gif

but time will tell smile.gif

I'm not mouthing off...

Yeah but the point here Skinny is that those subs were designed for in car use dude.

Noone cares what you do at home.

Bring it to the lanes we arent scary noone is going to hold it against you that your brain is slightly malnutritioned smile.gif.

As a matter of fact we will love whooping your ass smile.gif.

Dude you gotta good job now your making money got yourself a termlab, so why not splash out on a small hatch some decent gear and start competing.
stazed
Nah George he has to keep building horns, getting crap numbers and then signing up to tell people who couldn't give two f*cks smile.gif

Because that's what losers do ya know!

maybe you missed the whole point of this thread? lol

"I'm aiming for 140dBs in the HOUSE"

now that we've cleared that up... a woofer is a woofer... its a voice coil, a cone, a fixed magnet, a surround, and a spider... oh, and a basket. tongue.gif

is there a difference between a "car subwoofer" and a "home subwoofer"? not really... if anything, this pioneers are more for home use, as in my opinion, a "car subwoofer" would suit a small, sealed box, as a car is only small, and these Pioneers do not.

would you like me to buy a "home audio" subwoofer? just so I can say its a home sub, and not a car sub?

I imagine these horns would do 145dBs in the car, except its going to be SS1-2 WALL, because the boxes are too big....

right now, I'm looking into buying some GOOD 10's, and a high powered amp, and making a pair of small horns to go in a VAN!!! yes, a VAN, because I reckon I can fairly easily make it to 150dBs, using the efficiency of the horns, rather than making use of a small cabin...

make sense?

why must we always argue? I want to see Australia take out some of the WORLD records, but with all this arguing, nothing ever happens.

dude, you MAY be the loudest Street A in Australia, but you're still like 6dBs off the world record!!!
APS
And your nowhere near any record so we shall leave that for another thread smile.gif. None of Australias numbers are near a world record so i dont see why i have to break a world record to get your respect. And its not 6db's its less than that smile.gif.

Now if you want tens and amps see me ill help you out but i wont sell you Soundstream cos its to good for you smile.gif.

If you havent noticed i am pretty much getting louder by the day so WHAT YOU RECKON you will do in a car i dont think is achievable except in your dreams.

Nowi do agree no point in arguing and noone is really arguing here we are just saying that you need to provide some decent numbers dude.

Oh and horns are efficient up to a point where you hit a barrier and you cant move any higher.

There is no such thing as the perfect box. And once you start experimenting with more power and better woofers and getting higher numbers youll see all the other problems that will arise.
DBBPwnzUz
lol, I've been playing with an 8inch Venom... tongue.gif

reckon I can hit 140dBs with one in the car... LOL!!!

just so you know tongue.gif

I'd rather play with the 8, so I KNOW I can hit 150dBs with two 10's, and alot more power...

but then, I'd rather not spend hours testing with a stupid 8...

so, I've reached a stale mate basically...

I really want to try my horn in a van, because I have a feeling it'll be louder than in the station wagon, but no one I know has a van it would seem...

3....2....1.... and ban smile.gif

What you don't seem to grasp is that output efficiency at low power does not translate to output efficiency at high power. It's all about motor strength with SPL. Your sub & box may be efficient at low power when it is within its efficiency range, but when its being pushed hard, it will end up struggling to push air into the horn rather than out of it. The horn itself becomes a restriction. To extrapolate and say you can easily make 150db is futile dreaming.
