i was looking to upgrade my amps to see if it was worthwhile for sq. While extremely happy with my clarion amps that i currently have, i decided to do search for some reviews regarding the sq compared to others. Now i know that Arc audio and Clarion have some kinda relationship, and i know that people say that my DPX1000.2 is the exact same as another amp on ARC'S lineup.

I just wanna know if someone knows if these 2 amps are the exact same in terms of performance, and sound. Their layout is the exact same, they both share a 40amp fuse, exact same specs, they just have different price tags.

1. Are they the EXACT same apart from cosmetic differences.
2. Is it really worth upgrading this amplifier if it is the same as ARC's.

arc audio have now taken their production in house...

The Clarion was made by ARC for Clarion. ARC oem for quite a few companies.

sweet as...so could this be the best budget amp? u can pcik them up for around 150 from shops (if thgey still have any)

Are they any other Clarion amp's that share high end parts? Such as the APX400.2?

Might be worth tracking down one of these to power my 4 speakers.

abyss and Tru Tech share the same heatsinks AFAIK. dont know about the internals. both are said to be very nice amps. i like my Tru Tech but have had no experience with Abyss

considering that iabyss won't be sold outside S.Korea, i'm not surprised that you have no experience with it - considering that most of the information that english speaking countries have is only website info, forum info and rumours (me included)..
