Hi,

First post on this forum. Amazing the amount of info on here. Anyway down to business.

I'm in the process of install and 4 channel Alpine Amp and S type sub in my BA Falcon. The plan is to run the front speaker (Boston Acoustics 5x7's) for ch 1&2 of the amp and the sub off ch 3&4 bridged. The source for the amp will come from the front speaker source from the stock cd player, into a Line Out Convertor (LOC) to the amp.

Here's the problem. I need to find the soure wire for the front speakers. Obiviously I can get it from the speaker, but would make the job a heap easier if could tap into the wires before they enter the door. Can anyone help me out with this or tell me where a can get to these wires before entering the door.

cheers,
Luke

Thanks. I got it sorted yesterday. systm sounds good. I'm currently running Bouston NX85's (i think) all round with the front powered by the amp and Alpine 12" S type sub and MVR345 amp. I used Navone LOC's and not getting any noise using the factory head unit.

cheers.

sorry to bring up an old thread, but I searched and found an existing one rather than starting a new thread.

I am about to do this into my BA XR6 ute, so I can get to the speaker wires from behind the kick panel?

Right is grey and left is orange?

What colour are the negative wires?

Sorry for the dumb questions, but I would like to have some sort of idea before I make a start.

Which line level converter would be better, the Jaycar or the Stinger?

Stinger owns Jaycar for quality, however I have found the Alpine ones to be very good! smile.gif

Agreed the Alpione LOC are the best imo.

The Navone are highly regarded also, but I've haven't used them myself.

The Alpine ones aren't even expensive. $59 RRP and made in Japan IIRC.

Line out bargain of the century! tongue.gif

I personally like the Audiocontrol LC6, probably because it's the one I spend the most time with. They're around $300 or so.

Ok guys I have been held up doing this but I am finally going to get around to doing it this weekend.
Can someone confirm the wiring colours are

R+ grey/ green stripe
R- grey/ black stripe

L+ orange/ green stripe
L- orange/ black stripe

Also another question please, where is the best place to locate a trigger source for the amp remote wire.

Thank You
