how can i limit uploads in eMule? its a pain in the a$$ cos its killing my up/download limit with the uploads.....

lie about your true upload speed.

Or right-click it when it's in the system tray and adjust the Upload slider bar.
Or right-click it when it's in the taskbar and go Options > Upload Limit and select one of the choices in there.


Be careful though as eMule has built in protections to stop you from being a non-sharer. The rule is that the download limit will be 4 times the Upload limit until you set uploads 10kb/S at which point it goes to it's maximum download limit.

e.g. Upload limit 4kb/s, download limit becomes 16kb/s.
If you say you can upload at 2kb/s it will automatically set a download limit at 8kb/s. I set my upload speed to 20kb/s since I have a 30kB/s potential upload speed.

If I need to reduce it temporarily then I drop it down to 10kB/s (50%) and don't have any caps on my download speeds either

i could never get emule too work or any of the torrents either, i would be able to search for them on emule but the dl would never start so i got rid of it.

I wasn't aware that eMule handled torrents.

eMule = eDonkey and Kad networks. I use BitTorrent for torrents.

i was using kazaa for awhile but now i jsut go without dammit.

Get smashers "Pimp My Emule Mod" from www.00de.de.
It allows you to modify your upload speed, or not upload at all.
Also has many other usefull "tweaks"

Or just get the cracked version of Limewire Pro

e-mules uses credit based UL/DL stat. You can reduce your UL's but at the same time you will be

limiting your DL speed. E-mule is still by far one of the healthest P2P networks there is. There are modded versions laying around, but really being a leech is a really lame thing to do, as it siphens the life out of the network. EG: if we all leeched there would be no network, and we all loose. . Also 90% of the time you will be filtered out by newer versions, and will find yourself getting lower and lower Kbs, as u get banned continiously.

Try picking up a better DSL plan, go for unlim UL/DL's with TPG or one of the other alternate ISP's.

Ive used e-mule for about the last 3 year's now. Just take the attidtude, it's slow, but hey you get want your looking for.
