Hey man, how are ya?

If I had the choice, I'd get a second hand Civic and do it up (engine too, not just looks).

Or I'd see if I could get a second hand A3 for that price. Audis exude clas. Good luck!

i'd get a high end civic with the vtech engine
can be had for around 11K, then spend another 3 or 4 on mods and it'll be nice as!

If u dont mind paying $$(ie $2k+) on insurance get a silvia, skyline etc. The main thing is get a car that you like. Just remember the more faster it goes the more you will spend money on it hahaha.

A3's are nice or a high end VW Golf?

The BASE models are $30,000 new. VR6 2nd hand is still too expensive.

Fast on a budget: 180SX (not the most reliable though)
Or you could also look at the gen 2 MX6 like I have, or a Eunos 30X.

Mx6 would be nice as would an older mx5 (the mx5 for sale in the for sale forum at the moment looks like a bargain to me )

Then there are the skylines (r32), s13 silvia's, 180sx's etc

If you want comprehensive insurance then u could also think about Integra's, MR2's, Celica's etc.

Any specifications u want?

As said above, the Audi's are nice cars... however an a3 will set u back from $18,000 or so.

I would be going for the MX6 prolly... nice car which aren't overly popular so the prices aren't too bad!

when i sold the laser i was looking in the same criteria; small sporty turbo... insurance will blow that out of the water.

if you're a p-plater i found its really hard or really expensive to insure a turbo, let alone do mods. especially if u have any prior traffic offenses.

i ended up buying a EF XR6. yeh, its bigger than what your looking for, but the room is nice to have (considering i'm 6'1"). You can tow if necessary. Plenty of carrying space, for both luggage and passengers.
The car isn't as quick as a turbo, but it definately isnt' slow

best part is i'm fully comprehensively covered for just over $1k, including the 17" mags, and the sports exhaust while i'm 19 and i've had a couple of speeding fines.

oh, and plenty of room for a stereo too
