hi

just interested to hear what people have chosen for their idmax 12 d4 box size

even though box size will be dependent on transfer function it would be nice to know what people have tried and are happy using it for spl sq or a mix smile.gif

ive had a look @ the id forums and it seems popular to use from 1.3 to 1.5 cubic feet internal.

last question, what is the difference between the v2 and v3, is it just the cone material or is it a little more than this. From what i can gather on the id forums that the motor internal design has been slightly altered, however you can use a v3 cone in a v2 motor assembly (so you would have a v2.5)

for the moment i have chosen a sealed 39ltr (1.38cubic feet) internal box for a idmax d4 v2 (i have taken into account the displacement of the sub which is a very small 3.4ltrs)

the woods been cut just have to route a rear window in the box and glue the walls together

i run 1.3cuft sealed. i think this sounds great and is what fitted in the boot-install. tongue.gif there is some 'roll off' down the very bottom (below 50Hz) which is tuned with my EQ. a slightly larger box, say 1.5cuft would improve this slightly, although there may be an equal amount of loss in accuracy (basically, not much either way).

not sure about the difference between v2 and v3 (i have a v3).
