JBL W10GTi.. DVC 6ohm

Gives more wiring options when you use a lot of them (knew I'd find a use for 6ohm coils one day).

Your single amp is best suited to Street or Street Max. Stick with it.
With 8000Wrms you should be hitting high 150s. Guys in Europe are getting this from a single battery.
Besides, SS 5+ will be a scary place soon.

But 8x 10"s !

8 x 10's would be awesome if all set-up correctly.
I cant believe there is not more interest in SS5+ and higher scores as well. I would have through the top few scores in that class to be 155db+.

Mark Klatt has hit low-mid 50s in SS 5+ using just two D2s. He's faded off the scene recently, but tells me he'll be back.......
As soon as I finish our new X5 SQ demo car, we'll start work on our Vito. SS 5+ will go places then.

Actually I do find that boring, all it needs is some toffee nosed tart dropping her yuppy larva at a private school then going to have a latte with friends to be the perfect picture..
Back on topic.. Got some goodies coming, I've made up my mind on what to do.

Phil
No ... I find your brand boring. Well not so much the brand, but the bandwagon following it has. I personally think DD has had a negative effect on dB Drag Racing in general (well in Australia anyway).
No competitor thinks they can enter with their JL Audio's, Cadence, Hertz, Pioneers and so on subwoofers anymore. The perception is they need to have DD (with some exceptions to those who have remained loyal to their chosen brands).
Yes, I have used DD myself and I didn't think this back then.
I take my hat off to the success of Digital Designs products, there is no doubt they are good used in the right application. But I honestly believe there are other brands out there that are just as good, but for some reason DD has 'this' following?
I don't know. I'm tired of it personally and really want to see some other contenders sticking it to 'em. This SPL forum may as well now be called "DD SPL Discussion".
Not trying to get anyone offside here, and this is NOTHING personal towards you Phil. I'm just really over it. I am sure there are others out there that share this opinion (well I know there are), but I know that the DD supporters are going to jump down my throat for posting my outspoken opinion.

I share the opinion thats why Im bringing back the Venom

No in all seriousness though I tend to agree there seems to be a fear of DD every one is going DD and for good reason too. But there are good drivers by other manufacturers out there at similar prices that are doing just as well esp in eastern europe wher SFA people use DD drivers and they are hitting big numbers over there why cant we?
DD Phil
Feb 10 2006, 08:01 AM
Wow, kick a guy in the guts why don't we.
You don't think the success of the brand has a lot to do with the way it's supported?
I've been in car audio since 1992, I'm an addict. I built my first Australian Record winning car in 1999 and have built many since.
I fly around the country helping our dealers and customers build their cars. I sit up late every night, talking to competitors all over the world.
I design several custom boxes everyday for people all over the country.
When a CAA member did the wrong thing by fellow CAA users, we stepped in and handed out $2000 worth of brand new amps.
Is it any wonder the brand has done so well? How is this such an evil thing?
Alpine gets recommended on here 10 times more than DD, yet does anyone even raise an eyebrow?

Find a thread where I flat-out suggest someone buys DD. I don't think you'll find many.
We've been through this before. I answer questions and give info when it's raised or asked for.
Why can't I love our products, do you think have made them my life if I didn't beleive in them?

I dont seem to recall DD's being an option on my Poll list.. or BMW's.. or 20"s.. or anything else like that which seems to have taken over discussions. I just wanted some input from members as to what to do with the car.
As it stands I'm getting ANDRA & RTA approved restraints & seats fitted and doing a new wall.. a better wall that's stronger and larger than the current one with a twist. IE the cars going to still be Street legal & dB Drag legal, and daily driven.
I've worked out some wiring issues. Now the only difference between the car burping and the car driving is which headunit is switched on. No fuses to pull, no switches to flick, no wiring to change.
