Just wondering what peoples opinions are on these two subs

MTX or JBL

It would be going into a VZ Commodore and be powered by Response 4x100 amp (2 channels bridged - 380wrms)

Thanks
TUFFTR
make sure you turn the gain down on that.....both subs can only handle 250WRMS or below

im vouching for the MTX on this one....they go crazy
C.C.S.S.
Go the JBL mate,$100 cheaper too wink.gif

Wheres the RMS rating on the MTX?

I run 350wrms everyday into 125wrms rated Jaycar 10s,never a problem. So both subs should handle 380wrms,just dont get to carried away with the volume button wink.gif

Neither! smile.gif

Get the Pioneer 306C, works out even cheaper, rated 400wrms. Just build a decent enclosure for it and you'll be laughing!

i did a search on that MTX sub and its rated at 225WRMS, peak 400W.........so yeah the 306C will set you back about $110 or do i what i did and get the JBL GTO 1202D DVC (2ohm+2ohm) subwoofer, there about the same specs as the pioneer but you got more wiring options.
for the pioneer check out strathfeild, hi-fi supermarket, and autobarn, for the JBL GTO i mentioned, go strathfeild.

Yer, id go tha 306c. Look around you can get 2 new 4 $200
Mr MTX
well this is purely a personal opinion but id go with the mtx coz i reckon they do a really nice job when you want some nice clear loud bass

from the
proud owner of many mtx subs and amps

the JBLs in the pre-fab boxes are ok, they have tight, punchy bass for a woofer of that cost....and that amp will power the sub nicely
