I'm getting paid about $400 for my services as a junior AFL umpire this season just passed, & I dont know what I wanna spend it on. So I figured I'd enlist a little help to assist me
If you think I could afford multiple choices, there's the option to tick multiple boxes.

i'd get some PG Octane R splits in the front, a PG Octane R sub in the rear

and u'll be laughing getting rid of that Jaycar and putting in some gear from a quality manufacturer will give you some nice, balanced sound!!

Thats exactly what i thought NUMB..

You can use that Jaycar amp for now, then upgrade that next..

If u can get a full exhaust for $400 then go for it

I agree with DrEvil, nothing beats the sound of an 8

I figured that if I got $400 for umpiring I could stretch it another $100 - $150 to get the full exhaust system.
After some wheeling & dealing though, it looks like I'll be getting some PG splits & sub. Then I'm trading my current gear + $50 to someone I know for a new front bar off a VK. Not sure if it's Grp 3 or Grp A? What is the difference anyway? If that falls through I'll go ahead with the Exhaust.

Group A and Group 3 front bars are the same. its the rear bars that are different. the Group A rear bar was the solid nice looking one.. whereas the GP3 rar bar had like rectangle sections cut out on the lower lip of the skirt.

spend the $400 to drive aroudn to local (and not so local) car audio shops, and have a listen to EVERYTHING you can, rather than jsut buying according to reputation/how well they get drilled into you on here... aww fug it, go get some DD subs while ur at it

[/can of worms]

from that list i say exhaust. i hav emy reasons.

We have one good car audio joint in town, they stock Focal, Boston Acoustics, Clarion, Alpine, JVC & Rockford Fosgate. I think that's it anyway. They have nothing really worth listening to on their demo board. Next closet is like an hours drive away, which would be at least a $30 round trip. And even then, I dont think I'd discover anything new. Not that I can be bothered to drive to Wollongong & back anyway. Besides, if so many other people like these speakers, I'm gonna most likely enjoy them too.

I was thinkin though, I could buy an SRx2 along with some PG splits. Then, I could buy a DVC PG sub, which would be run off the jaycar till I could afford a suitable monoblock. Seeing as my deck has a low-passed sub output, the jaycars lack of a suitable crossover wont matter. How does this idea sound?
