2006 Db Drag Racing Rules.

only real changes being that we can now mount the battery in Street A B C and SM1-2 and 3-4 anywhere in the engine bay, even if it requires a custom tray or brackets. biggrin.gif

so there you go, good luck to all that are stepping up and having a go at dB Drag Racing in 2006

cool cool.....cheers

plan to be rollin this year.....cant wait

just a quick question when they say electrical conductors what exactly do they mean?
Michae1
Conductors are the speaker cables that go from the sub/s to the amp/s.

or as dbdrag racing calls it.....

Conductor – A conductor is a single wire (solid or stranded) that is used to carry electrical current. A traditional speaker wire consists of two conductors (one positive and one negative).

In StA for example you can only have 2 conductors going from the box to the amp/s.

So you need to wire your subs so that at the amp you only have 1 positive and 1 negative speaker cable.(2 conductors)
Ruger3
ok thanks for that. i will be running 4 dvc subs. each pair running parralell to give a 4 ohm load. there will be 2 runs of cables from the subs to the amp is this considered as 4 conductors?
APS
what class u running
Michae1
Based on what you said, you will have 4 woofers, wired as 2 loads, so yes you will only have 4 conductors, 2 neg and 2 pos.

What size subs?

What amp/s and how many?

How many batteries?

Whatever class you are in, being either StC, SM3-4, SS3-4 or EX3-4 (assuming you have 4 subs 12" or bigger) you are allowed to have upto 8 conductors, except in SS and EX when you have no limit.

What if you're running one 12" DVC 4ohm sub off a 4channel amp (each voice coil off a pair of bridged channels)...

Hence wanting to be in St A
BlackIce
Too many conductors, you'd be bumped to Street B.

ah thanks for the help fellas this works well for me
its 4 x 12 dvc fusion subs. havent got the amp yet trying to find a single d2 to run it all.

what fusion ones are you using man cause if their encounters 1 amp will be able to power them fine.

but if your using power plants then 1 amp is going to cost you a pretty penny to get cranking 3.6kwrms
as thats what 4 FPW1200 are rated added together the 4 in total total which means you would want an amp that atleast crank over 4kwrms.

but anyway
i would say be smart as you would prob be in SM3-4 with me if your running 4x 12'' subs, unless you go upto SS3-4. go buy two decent amps will work out cheaper then buying one amp big enough to power the 4 subs.
