seems pretty good, I have had a play around with one of the phones not too bad, but too big for me, and they feel "cheap". haven't had a look at the one u talk of..

But I have heard some bad things about the state of the 3 network(still very n00b )

the new motorola A920 is aimed at a business market, it feels really nice
included is open source operating system (forget the name)
Opera web browser
full java integration

unfourtunately no blue tooth for another month

The network 'apparently' had a firmware upgrade 2 weeks ago, this has removed 95% of dropout areas....

just wanting some first hand info But thanks Krase, at least u had nothing bad to say about them, rests my mind a little

On another forum (overclockers australia) there was a discussion on this phone and the consensus was that it wasn't that good. The "open operating system" isn't actually open and you can only run stuff on it that you get from 3 themselves. I can't remember any other details but there were some other features it was meant to have that it doesn't. Just check it out carefully before you hand over the cash.

On the 3 thing I haven't heard many good things about them as a company - apparently their customer service is less than wonderful and their $99 call deal is also subject to them removing it at any time for what ever reason they choose.

I'm not saying don't go to 3, just check it out thoroughly first.

Yeah I rekon the $99/mth max is just too sux ppl into getting it and once they see its costing them up go the prices, but hey if you already spend that much a month anyway y not

Personally i'd check the coverage maps real real real carefully... I know optus will release people from contracts within the first 14 days if coverage is crape, but if you go 3 and it's bad, bad luck!

well i picked it up this morning and i'm really very impressed, a fairly steep learning curve from traditional Nokia menu's (ie: your basically using a new operating system) and trying to get around all of the new features is a mammoth task
but very fun indeed, love the fact that I can use MP3s as a ring tone

and after using the stylis/touch screen using a mouse on my p.c is quite aggrivating. definately a great phone! (very very ricey too, like blue neons on charger n stuff!)

The network itself is very good, i've driven a fair bit today and havn't had any drop outs or anything, service so far has been great, definately on par with telstra (maybe slightly better than telstra) and well above optus/voda IMO
