Hi all

Anyone in Sydney currently on 3? I know the coverage used to be bad, but how is it now? Any up/downsides to 3?

Also, opinions on Nokia 6280 vs Motorola V3X?

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

since telstra has come to the party its considerably better

3 still has their call centres in india though

v3x has issues with coverage outside the 3 areas (see www.aussie3g.com for more into) plus all the usual motorola problems (slow sms, bad menu etc..). 6280 is a clear choice.

hey mate

actually signed up to 3 about a month ago, with the 6280 (glad i picked that instead of the v3x!)

pros:

- dirt cheap plan (cos i don't use my mobile that much)
- "free" Nokia 6280 (which is an awesome phone. if only it were a tad smaller)
- $28 month minimum, incl. $28 in calls, sms, news, email etc.
- 12 month contract
- 9c/30 seconds for voice calls
- 150 free sms per month to ANY network
- 300 free minutes 3 to 3/Orange
- much better coverage than on Orange (my previous provider)
- heaps of network features (e.g. email, news, weather etc.)

cons:

- call centres in India, thus can not understand your queries/problems
- occassional call dropouts when it swithces between 3g and CDMA

so overall, i'm currently happy with my choice smile.gif

yeah they all share coverage these days

i was in exactly the same situation 2 days ago...V3x or 6280

went with the V3x cos it was $12 cheaper and i got a free 51cm TV with it

6280 looked to be a much nicer phone but im happy with my decision

the 6280's look nice, but i dont think they are very durable, the dlise mechanism on them looks like it would break very easily.

awsome phones though
