Full Version: One of those days at work....

Well some of you may remember my previous thread about f*cked up things happening where I work (service station) and of course some of the funnier things as well, which makes you realize why certain people should not breed.

Today was another of those days.

Come to work nice and early and begin doing the usual stuff. A co-worker goes outside to empty the bins, barely 2 metres from the console, on the other side of the glass window that looks out over the fuel pumps. She comes back inside freaking out saying there's a bomb and we have to get out of here...I have a chuckle and go outside and have a look. I nearly crap my pants when I see in amongst the crap inside the large bin are a heap of sticks marked explosives, a mess of wires and what looks to be detonators.

A quick call to the emergency co-ordinator, the police and fire brigade, and a quick pull of the lever to shut down the site and I got my ass, and all the co-workers and customers asses out of range of the servo.

After waiting ages for the bomb experts from Melb to drive up, we find out that it was live explosives and real detonators however there was little chance of it going off, they may have just been dumped there or left there to be used later. The bomb dudes did whatever they do and got rid of the stuff and after a few hours twiddling thumbs and talking to cops we were allowed to resume business.

They're investigating where they came from and how the hell they got in the bin but of course wont tell us anything

After 1000 customers asking me why the highway was blocked off this morning, I am home in one piece and sucking down on some bundy and cola

Here's a random (and entirely true) fact that I read up at my service stations head office... The most common recorded incidents of fire in their servo's in the past few years has been from idiots driving into the servo with their car already on fire.

What are these morons thinking? "Sh*t my car is on fire!! Lets drive into this servo where they sell heaps of highly combustable fuel products and see if they have some water!"

Hey what sevo do you work at?

I work at a Quix...

Servo's are great places to work, I've dealt with engines blocks being set alight to junkies to a robbery...

It's great!

Funny that this should crop up. I was driving behind a Daewoo Cielo today when it caught on fire, the first thing that she did was pull into the servo (which was choccas at the time)! I couldn't believe it! Nothing went bang though.

Cheers...Mitch
