WTF - as if you wouldn't have something better to spend ur money on
BTW the plate was just a '2'

I would also call it a investment...
It will still should be worth about that much if not more ina few years.
I think the number 1 was valued over 1 million

You'd have to be a friggen knob to chuck those plates on a car...But i guess, if they got flogged they'd be easy to track down (I can imagine a bogan driving a clapped out kingswood with the 2 plates on it LOL)

my old man used to work for a private car collector, ala lindsay fox style, anyway he had been collecting VIC number plates pretty much his whole life and has the numbers 2 through 12 and 14 through 20, ive seen a few of them, and the set is insured for some absurd amount that makes $680k look like play money (of course i never quite got what he saw in collecting them, but its pretty cool none the less)

I saw the number plate 1 a few weeks ago...
it was on an E55 AMG..
nice car... after seeing number 2 going for $680 grand, it would be funny to think the numberplate is worth more than the car...
it was a VIC 1, can't remember if it was black and white though

Number plates that are just numbers cost $$$$$ just to get them transfered into your name, ie: RTA charges something like $50k for the privlige of owning them(check rta site for more details).
If you see a car with numbers only plate, know that they are rolling in the dough.
Nsw '1' used to be the boss of Amatil(coca-cola aust) and they were on a McLaren F1, not sure if its still the case.
Why? Depends, some for wank/bling factor, some cause fav number? haha who knows!!

I don't know about that, what about these babies:
"It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile, winning, winning"
"It's not how you stand by your car, it's how you race your car"
