hey there peoples
just wondering what everyone is doing for valentines day?, if they believe in it or not and what sort of things you are buying etc
to start it off me and my girl have been together for about 3 months now, she has dancing from 5:00 -10:00 on tuesday so seeing her then is going to be difficult.... i am taking in to her work a basket which i have made myself, has a teddy with 3 fake roses behind him, a box of "roses chocolates" in his arms and a car.... doesnt sound like much but looks really good.... and surprisingly made really cheap to which was a bonus
we are then going to have a picnic next saturday and kings park and come back for a spa and a few drinks at mine
well thats me, will try and post pics up of this teddy and the arrangement etc
whats everyone else doing??

Well the point of valentine's day is surprising someone who doesn't know you like them....
Did that back in high school and it was definitely worth it
I would like to do the same this year but I don't think I would get away with it considering the girl in question
But I've got a few tricks up my sleeve

Skitzo, that sounds really nice, i bet she will love it.
Low Tech, you'll find someone soon, if thats what you want. Good luck finding someone.
For myself and Marc, we have been together for about a yr and a half. Not totally sure what we will do.
All i know is he is doing something special for me. Ohhh exciting!!
Cant say on here what i wanna get him as he will see and no suprise then.
Hope everyone has a lovely romantic day, i know i will be.

sounds really good, my girl said she didnt believe in it either.... i said i believed in it and that i want to do something and she was all against it... then i told her we wernt going to do anything (although i still was) and now she is all for it.... talk about reverse psychology....
im always the one that goes all out with hotels and dinners etc... this one is going to be nice and quiet with some good time alone i think, just enjoy each others company..... still tossing up the idea of a hotel but low on funds atm

Feb 11 2006, 10:40 PM
Yeh it sure is over rated. I dont remember doing anything special last year, as we both agreed it was stupid. Even just a nice dinner at home will do me fine, im not all about the presents and stuff. But this year i have something i wanna buy him, so i guess Valentine's day is the perfect day to give it to him.

Well this year was the first year I was actually going to spend V Day with some I really care about.. and it turns out that she won't be in town for this week so i'll be spending it alone

I had plans to take her to dinner and then to a play (I'm not into plays but I know she is).
Anyways I put a message in the paper for her.. I hope she likes it, I wrote a poem, it kind of ryhmes

Maybe it's best this way, i'll save all my romantic energy for our 1 year anniversary which is in less than a month. I've got her like 3 gifts already and I can't control myself I feel like I want to buy more for her! Someone slap me!

Considering it's a week before my bf's birthday, I'm mixing the day's in together.
I've got a b'day cake made for him exactly the same as his car, organised a "surprise" party for him (which his workmate managed to ruin by accident)
But tomorrow night, I'm making him a mexican dinner and giving him lots of love

I just think Valentines day is a day to be lovely to each other and remember why you fell in love. Not to buy expensive gifts.

It's valentines day? I suppose i should shave.
Hah. In all seriousness, I dont need a hallmark holiday to suprise someone

Hmm. Actually. This could be an excuse for some fun.
Muwuahahahah.

Feb 13 2006, 10:36 AM
man... valentine's day! eep... i definately need to shave... been looking like a god damn monkey lately.
But then again... i am gonna be spending it alone.... and no1 is gonna be bothered giving me anything (dunno why they'd give a hairy monkey anything anywayz!

)
So i guess... my valentine's day events involve.... me, computer, and gaming!

well i havent spent alot and am not planning to spend much more now... realistically i think V day is something you should just spend with someone and appreciate each others love or whatever you appreciate and that big expensive gifts arent nesecarily the way to go, but something to show you care is priceless, including gifts brought to work.... every girl likes things brought to her work, not only do they get a present but its going out of you way to show in public you care about them
anyways thats what i think not everyones opinion, and i finally have a photo of my present, so here it is.... obviously it hasnt been wrapped in cellophane wrapping yet as the chocolates will melt but you get the idea + card + red shiny ribbon, yet to come

Hmm, my gurl had her 21st on Sat night so I spent the majority of my cash all last week and on the weekend on her so I'm flat broke.
I'll do the card and chocolate thang, pretty much because its all i can afford.
If that doesnt work, I'll sit her down in my car and let her listen to usher on my system for 20 mins. As painful as it is for me, I willing to sacrifice my eardrums.

One of my freinds started going out with his girlfreind the day after valentines day - then he proposed on christmas day. He said it was good cause there was always a clander day to remind him and he couldnt get into trouble for not remembering valentines day. but he bitched and moaned about having to remember another day though when they finally got married

Well the newspaper screwed up and my little poem wasn't published. They gave me my $60 refund (I wanted a big heart that's why it was $60, the next size up was $255!!) and they gave me the complimentary movie tickets that everyone gets when placing an ad, also said my ad would go into the Valentines day competition where they judge the funniest, most romantic, silliest etc etc
Anyways long story short.. I got a call back saying I won the most romantic one even though I wasn't in the paper

I won a $500 voucher at a lingerie store WOOT!
So just to recap, I didn't spend a thing on V Day and my g/f still gets a $500 voucher
