Which of these subs would put out the most SPL in the correct ported enclosure and 1000rms
I was thinking they would put out around the 150db range correct me if im wrong.
has any one had experience with any of these subs?

DD is proven winner, the lomu really doesnt stand up too the DD although its a large woofer no doubt about it
id be going the DD simply because its proven to be big and loud, although im not familiar but the lomu maybe more effient with only 1000rms.. but if u can get the DD id go for that then worry about buying bigger amp later

as for 150db range, it depends on car.. the DD is probaly capable wouldnt be too sure about the lomu, however they used to hold DB drag records a few years ago

With that power I would recommend the Fusion, as the DD won't even move with only 1000wrms. The 9515's need at least 2500wrms to get the most from them. Even more if possible.

i wouldnt limit yourself too just the lomu, theres lots of other subs out there that can compete with it
although they are bad looking subs

9500s run great with 1000W, we run 9500s off M1s all the time. They are very efficient.

the Lomu is $949 the DD 9515 is $1249.... They are both great subs. If you are only using 1000 watts you wont be breaking SPL records with either sub. It will be impossible to blow either of them up if set up correctly, they both look good, both sound good. They use pretty much the same size enclosure....Bottom line is, if $$ isn't the issue, if you're not going to compete in spl comps seriously, and you like the look of both of them........flip a coin

1000wrms on a JL sub would run it fine to as the JL amp is 1600wrms but that being said to
subs are always bout the enclosure they are going into and the car they will be running in. i ran $129 sony subs and pulled 143 in sealed enclosures with 2 of the subs i had
so with the right enclosure im sure 2 JL'15's could hit 150 in the right enclosure and right car.
but i would say if ya like fusion drop to the powerplant subs i run 2x1600wrms JL amps on my fusion powerplant subs and they run dam hard and would save ya $550 for each sub it would as i got mine for $400 each sub and the JL amps for $1200 each

well i have used both fusion and DD the powerplant 12" and a 3512c DD sub, with 1000w the powerplant would be the better one over the lomu the lomu is more of a name thing not that much better then the powerplant actually not worth the xtra cash and the powerplants look just as good as the lomus. or you could get fusions xtreme quad coil 15".
i was running them off a powerplant 9001d 850wrms at 2 ohm and the fusion got 142's and the dd was also 142's it wasnt untill i put 2500wrms into them that the dd stood out, the pp 143's and the DD 145's.
as for sound i think that the dd sounded better then the fusion but stil couldnt fault the fusion either, if it were me and it was about the cash and not competing then the fusion for sure, but if you were planning on competing and getting more power later on the the dd.
but there are more brands out there then these two that are just as good if not better.
my 4cents worth.

You know what's gunna happen?
You'll buy the Fusion sub coz it's cheaper. You'll be happy with it for a while, then you'll think, damm these Loma bastards could do with more power! So you get a bigger amp. Now, you're putting 3000w to the Fusions and you're hitting 149.8 and you're thinking, damm, if I had got the 9515 I would be over the 150 mark already.
Does this process sound familiar to some people?
Don't fark around my grasshopper, get the 9515.

or ya can go for fusion FCW 15''sub 4kwrms and run 4000wrms through it but cost ya a pretty penny though that will surely run 150's and over easy for ya
fusion years ago had 169 from one of their 15'' subs years ago
but have recently built the new FCW15'' comp sub not so long ago to go serious in the SPL ranks
go one of those subs and a FCA4000D amp runs 3900wrms at 1 ohm on 12.6volts and 4100 at 1ohm on 14.4volt ya will def hit bigger 150's easy
but yeah way out of ya price range and isnt really the topic just want to state an outrageous idea LOL
only would run ya $6000-$7000 roughly for the amp and sub

1 of my mates was running a 2 15'' jono lomu subs running off 1000watts RMs each sub, in a sealed enclosure, in a hatch back pulled a 147db

yeah 147 on a AC meter sounds bout right
sealed on TL 147 i find that hard to beleive specially with only 1000wrms
i hit just on 150 with fusion PP subs and run 1600wrms into each sub with a proted wall set-up
so find it hard to beleive a sub that is only rated 400 wrms more then the subs i am using, plus not to memtion the fact his using 2 subs less then i use.
doing 147 in a sealed box i dont beleive it would have been on TL sorry
anyway billy out

I figured AC. 147 on TL is a good score.
We got over 150 on TL with two 15s, one amp and a drop in box in the back of a new Colt, so I thought it *might* have been a TL score.
