Hey.

Does anyone here own or have extensive experience listening to the 8" Rainbow Profi Vanadium subs, and can give me an educated opinion on their performance?

I'm only really interested in SQ, SPL is not an issue. I've only got around 20L and 200mm depth to deal with so these are one of the few true SQ subs i can fit.

I'm tossing up between these and the DLS Magnesium 10"s for an install we're doing smile.gif

From what I know Precision Installations + icacha installed a Profi Vanadium 8 into a ute/coupe? or something like that, in a small enclosure between the seats.

I think I remember the comments from one of the Paul's @ Precision was that the sub was playing right down to 40hz, maybe as low as 35hz, very clear and accurate. I'll wait until George is around tonight and ask him for more information though.

I think ultim8dtm5 had the Profi Vanadium 12 too, but I'm not sure that's entirely the advice you're after.

I'm sure you've graphed them in WinISD, and the scary thing is, that curve is correct.

They play a lot lower than an 8" should whilst remaining very tight, controlled, and has the response of a much larger diameter sub. Output wise, there is a bee's poo between the 8" and my 12" running 300rms.

For sheer convenience, the 8" is a more viable option and this places it ahead of the 12" in my book.

Should be ideal for your application, however I've only heard 12" Magnesiums so can't do a direct comparison. The Magnesium is an awfully nice driver, and if the 10" is similar, which I expect it would be, it would be a tough choice for you to make.

Tell George to turn the damn thing up Pete smile.gif.

40hz? they got it set up as a midbass or does it not play low like a sub should?
