in street classes the engine has to be off and yes you can fold the seats down as long as the seats lock into place and everything is below window line
well i hit good numbers in my camry wagon at 42 hz but yours i'm not sure
hopes this helps
xplod_au
there isbnt really anyway to test without a meter ears are decieving but im sure if u get there early enough on sunday They might let u test it before hand.

play some sweeps if you can and see where it peaks on the meter.

You should only need a couple of runs before the event..

At most friendly store events, they'll gladly help you get your best numbers.

Don't be afraid to ask to borrow a CD if necessary. Play the sweep and look at the graph on Termlab, it will give you a 3-4Hz window of which is your loudest frequency.

It may say, for example, that 55Hz was loudest. Try anything from 53-57Hz in your next runs to see which works best.

Also, tuning your head unit's volume all the way up isn't always loudest. If it goes to 35, start around 26 and edge your way up to achieve the maximum output.

And, above all. HAVE FUN!!

can you play music at all as i have a track that hits the loudest note in the car

is there anyway to use temlab to find out what this note is

You can if you want, but what you will find that what "sounds" loud and what actually measures loud are two totally things, tones are the only what to get the most out of a system (for spl).
If you can get time on a term-lab it's easy to find out what frequency your car is loudest. Run a sweep first, the meter will give you the answer straight away. See on the bottom left graph? Shows the loudest point was around 62hz. I normally test 3 or 4 either way, once you find the peak (never know)
CAA guys constantly hold "test & tune" days, find out if someone is holding one near you, go along have a go. Testing makes and incredible difference.

In your first qualifing run its always best to play a sweep, as even the slightest change in conditions like weather, can change your peak by 1 or 2 hz either way.

well done mate, its amazing how many people go to these comps thinking, it'll only do X db, then are genuinely surprised and happy to hit a 136db.

If only it stayed that way (being so easy to please with scores)
Dark_Stiles
yah i alredy want more i want to push this one box to at least 140

i had hit a wall in power levels
my amp just wasnt geting enuf curent

so time for a new bat

funny thing is that i hate this sub for lisning to music (more to do with box tuning) now i want to 10s for everyday lisning and maby 2 12's for spl
BlackIce

Well done It is a lot of fun competing regardless of if you win, trying to better your own personal best.

With a bit of tuning a maybe a more powerful amp you should easily get 140's and that sort of score will stand you in pretty good stead for a lot of comps.
mark_sudakov
how much rms did u feed the sub?
Dark_Stiles
sub was geting 700ws

but the bat in my car is crap

so i think that was holding it back

but im eyeing of the new jaycar amps

3000ws rms into a 300w sub smile.gif

ow and to answer everyons questions
