Just trying to work out wether u can cut out floor from b pillar backwards or not ?
In the rules for all classes it stipulates that no oem skin modifications are allowed, however it also states that it does not see the undercarriage of the car as the oem skin, only the front back sides and roof, or the painted panels as the oem skin, therefore does that mean that the floor of the car or whatever can be cut ? i have seen extreme cars with the whole floor cut out and rebuilt and i have seen other cars obviously cut to accomodate for battery boxes ? so is it ok for st max ?

QUOTE
4-4 Modifications to the external OEM “skin” (body) of the vehicle are not permitted if the modification in question will result in a change in the vehicle’s interior volume. The dBDRA defines the “skin” of the vehicle as the external shell (top, front, back, and sides) of the vehicle’s OEM body that gives the vehicle its distinctive appearance. This is also the part of the vehicle that is normally painted. The underside or undercarriage of the vehicle is not considered to be a part of the OEM “skin”.

It is a well discussed rule on Termpro, floor cuts in Street Max classes are not permitted.

What St Max class you looking to run?
TeamRF
st max 1-2 by the looks of it ! if thats the case then it should be written a bit clearer in the rules !
so is it ok in ss or only extreme ?
Michae1
can cut in SS.

Cant fit 4 woofers in without cutting?

What car you using?

Gear?
TeamRF
nah just wanted to cut for my two woofers, gear is undecided at this stage, talking with few different distributors atm, just an old laser i have lying around collecting dust, so i thought id give it a new life, probably will move into ss later on ! but wanted to start in st max and sort out car first
DD Phil
Why do you need to cut for two woofers?

Phil
Michae1
Was thinking the same thing....

Here is a pic of the baffle for the Civic, the circles are the outer diameter of the 2 9917s that will eventually call it home.

Its a tight fit, but it fits all the same, bottom woofer is going to have more to load off than the top woofer, but should be all good. smile.gif

Oh yeah, Phil, that baffle is 100mm thick, but because the woofer cutouts will take so much out of the baffle, we are going to get a piece of 3mm steel cut to the same shape as the baffle, then screw it to the back to add a bit more strength.
DD Phil
They're now called 9918s smile.gif

dB Barina knows the rules well, he's going through the excercise as we speak.

TeamRF
height isnt the issue, i could fit two of ur 18's if i wanted to phil, but its depth that i want ! its not the end of the world though ! will just do the box a bit different for st max, and then cut the car out if i move to ss biggrin.gif

thanx for the help all

i assumed i wasnt allowed, but there was no rule that specified that i couldnt !

cheers

BlackIce
I'm sorry, but how does cutting out the floor help depth of the wall ? Depth goes back, height goes down.

Cutting the floors are NOT allowed.
Cutting from the tray/bed into the cabin of a Ute or Pickup IS allowed.
Cutting to accomodate airbag or hydraulic *sik* suspension IS allowed.

Cutting is not allowed in SS-NoWall, but you can do whatever you like behind the B pillar in SS1-2 and higher classes.
TeamRF
yeah, its not for my wall, i think someone else miss interpreted what i was asking, i have plenty of height for what i want to do ! but its the rest of the boix that is limited by the floor, doesnt matter though ! i can work around that for now !

biggrin.gif

speaking of st max, whos entering this year ?

is there going to b some competition ?
Michae1
Blackice, Pyroay, ME.....hehehe.......so yeah there might be some competition...
TeamRF
not a problem for me ! biggrin.gif
