hey smile.gif
i've just recently purchased a new car, and was wondering what the manufacturer warranty covers.

I plan to do the following to it:
- New rims
- full bodykit + spoiler
- new coils to drop the car roughly..2inch?(maybe less)? im not sure
- sub+amp+headunit
- exhaust + extractors
- clear tail and head lights

so..what actually voids the warranty?
ReMiX
what manufacturer?

the exhaust will and suspernsion changes might, But if you have a claim for warranty, keep the factory parts and replace them. Since theres a small chance you will have to claim.
jaaason
Mitsubishi is the manufacturer

ohh..
what is actually claimable? (say i need to claim)
bob
If your mods affect the warranty, it won't be the warranty on your whole car. Only on that part of the car. IE engine mods would/could affect driveline and engine, etc.
ReMiX
If there is a fault that develops that is a defect from factory, so for example there is a casting fault with one of the conrods and it ends up slapping around in the block.. that would be covered under warranty, as long as it had been serviced..

much like any other product. smile.gif

oh sweet,
so the suspension and exhaust shouldnt be TOO much of a problem?
ie, not much chance something will go wrong?
ITS NEVER 2 LOUD
ohhhh what car is it ??

suspension drop will most likely void anything suspension related if u get a bodykit make sure they dont screw into the metal as that will most likely void rust warrenty etc...but in general mitsubishi are pretty lax with there warranty claims thats why there going broke in australia because they will just about fix anything.
jaaason
ahh sweet
so all plans going ahead smile.gif

the car is a 2006 lancer ES btw
Stooge007
bah, save your money on all those mods and buy an Evo 9 tongue.gif

Stuff the 06 model mate, I know someone with a late 90's lancer with 4G63 conversion going cheap $13000 currently runs 12psi but if you fit another E-Boost controller it will happily run 24psi all day motor has been toughened considerebly, and a mate has a video of it smoking the front tyres at 180km/h power anyone haha. His reason for selling is he is buying a Evo 6.
jaaason
yeah..i'd buy it
thing is i cant drive it smile.gif
