Z2 Thread from Soundpressure.com

12.5 volt 60Hz "one 12 volt 100Ah battery"
DD Z1
2279w/max @ 4.6 ohm
3405w/max @ 2.3 ohm
4188w/max @ 1.15 ohm

DD Z2
2045w/max @ 4.6 ohm
3260w/max @ 2.3 ohm
na @ 1.15 ohm The amp is going in protect, not enough power in the battery.

DD Z2 @ 17.5volt 60Hz "2 x 16 volt turbo start battery"
3962w/max @ 4.6 ohm
6503w/max @ 2.3 ohm
7947w/max @ 1.15 ohm

So the Z1 remains the stronger 12v amp, but for SS above bring on the Z2.
2LOUD2OLD
what about figures for the Z1 at 17.5 V??

impressive none the less

Linky in first post is wrong dude.
Michae1
dammit, it worked before.

fix it later.

Z1 on 16v+ = bad, hence no high voltage results.

The Z1 uses 300V FETs, which limits the safe input voltage to 15.5V.

The Z2 uses 400V FETs, allowing for 18V input.

The 300V FETs are faster, giving better efficiency on 12V, hence the Z1 is the killer 12V amp.

That said, I can't wait to strap eight Z2s onto 2 9918Zs in our Extreme Civic. smile.gif

It was featured in the Dec '05 "Car Stereo Australia" magazine.

It's the loudest ever certified car in Aust. 164.4 from one amp! smile.gif

Drop me an email, I'll send the article to you.

It's tiny, only 15x22cm and rated at 1x600Wrms into 1 ohm (It's been independantly tested to far exceed it's power ratings!)

From Soundpressure.com

What can you get from a tiny 155 x 50 x 270 mm amplifier.
Here comes the result from our benchtest performed by Peter. T. (alias Viking Boy)

a) First we used an old standard 12V car battery.
4,6 ohm 354,8 watt
2,3 ohm 566,6 watt
1,15ohm 761,8 watt

We did this test just to show what a regular customer should get as a minimum by using the existing stock battery.

b) Then we wanted to have some more fun, so we took 14,4 solid input voltage, like a good after market battery, and with the engine running.

4,6 ohm 490,5 watt
2,3 ohm 777,9 watt
1,15ohm 1 029 watt

Wow, thats a lot of power coming out from this little sucker.
Remember, its also bridgeable so you can really get some serious power out from the SS-1 amp.

Here's the SS1:
