ok to start it off my pair of 12in just blew up

i had a pair of type s alpine, i now there not great but they were my first 1's so they did me.

ok now i want to get some decent 1's,
i'm looking at the JL 12W3-V2 or D4 (i don't no what the differents?)

ok how are this then any thoughts on different one's, the price has to be around these, are there any better 1's

i'd suggest one "better" sub over two "lesser" subs.

the W3's go for around $400 street price, so say around $800.

that's into the territroy of "premium" subs like:

Boston G5
Image Dynamics IDMax
Digital Designs 35 series
Diamond Hex series

etc.

No they wont sound a lot better. It would sound very similar to the type S. If you are planning on only having 1 of those rockfords, it'll wont be as loud

The TypeS are pretty decent subs for the money. Obviously there are better ones out there. But 1 GOOD sub is always better than 2 lessor subs.

I'd recommend the IDmax but there isnt anymore in the country for other 10 or so weeks. =D What is your budget and we'll be able to help you with your choice better

spose that depends on cabin size, ect, 2 w3's dont sound bad, especially if its in a big car, kinda a bit harder to tell the difference?
