i know there has been debate over different fuels, and people have said that certain brands are better then others, here is a link to a dirt bike forum that discus' the use of optimax, basically because i don't know any rider that would put it in their bike.....

Anyways, i just thought other might be interested in it, from what they are saying, they reckon in a car it would run fine, but in a dirt bike, not tha best idea.

*shrugs*

funny you say this..

i live in mildura, practically the capital of dirt bike racing / speedway ,speedboats, jetboat all that sorta thing.
i know ALOT of blokes who race sidecars such as GSX-R1000 and R1 motor and they all go off their chops and they SWEAR by optimax!! aswell as alot of moto-x riders i know here aswell! they totally swear by the stuff. so i cant see what the prob is if these people are running them in 200hp GSX-R engines..

other than optimax they either use that or order in proper race fuels from caltex or BP.

i guess its personal preferance.. all my mates swear by BP ultimate unleaded in their cars.. i DESPISE the sh!t !! made my car run like a horse with piles on melb cup day for a week!
back ta the trusty Mobil1 Premium i went.

Well, i gotta say, it REALLY Depends on the bike, if you buy a car thats designed to run on 91ron fuel, and it has no knock sensor, etc, performance gain would be limited from optimax(or ultimate, etc) (or non-existant), because youd' have to manually advance the timing to make it work nicely... However, if you have a nice bike, like an R1 with lotsa stuff on it to extract max performance, it would advance timing automatically, therefore... FASTER! Lol, no by much...
Word has it that in the UK optimax and ultimate are being replaced as we speak!!! With 100ron versions!!! It's in the UK, god knows when it'll get here, but soon hopefully

they are injected tho? maybe? not sure...on this site they said that injected engines it dont effect. (i might just add, that my road bike ran fine on all the premiums - FZR250)

anyways, if you went to that link, it was mostly to dirt bikes....and mostly to 2 smokers (like me) as apparently optimax wont allow the oil to mix properly with it which causes probs (obviously)

I just thought ppl might be interested, i dont wanna start a fued
