Hi,
i am wanting to buy a 4ch amp to run my front splits active as my Deh-P9450mp has active crossovers. The problem i have is that the 9450 only has 12db x-overs and i wanted sonething a little steeper to protect my tweeters. I was looking at alpine mrv-f345 because it has high frequency highpass (600-8000hz). Anyone know of a similar sized and priced amp that has the same feature.
Thanks
jas
if you are worried about your tweeters do this

set your head unit to

high pass filter (HP) 4khz @ 12db/oct
Bodyjar
Any reason you are looking for an alternative?

just seeing if anyone had something to recommend that they though would be better.

The passive xover crosses them at 4khz anyhow. just wanted to try dropping them to like 3khz to try and make the transition between mids and tweets less steering. the tweeters are on the a pillar and you can hear the stage up and down with the mids in the kick panels. was hoping they would blend a bit with some time alignment as well.

try it and see

if you dont like it bridge the 4channel amp for the front stage and use the original passive x-overs

4khz is a very safe setting for a 12db/oct on a tweeter

3.5khz @ 12db/oct still might work ok but it really depends on the tweeters, what tweeters are you using??

i played around with some very nice tweeters the other day setup fully active. I wanted to run them @ 3.5khz with 18db/oct active. Unfortunately the tweeters couldnt handle 3.15khz setting so the tweeter x-over had to be set @ the next setting of 4khz. Yes i was extremely dissapointed with the clarion hxd2 it just is soo limited in the x-over.

move your tweeters will be easiet /best cure IMO
you dont need steeper Xover as when its shallower you just do it higher up till f3 point becomes same.
