This was a long time ago, funny how it's popping up again now!
I have it on good authority that it wasn't a speaker as we know it. Apparently it was a "piston" connected to a crank shaft. A flywheel was spun up and a clutch was released, which threw the cone in and out.
They had major issues with "conrod" breakage, due to the massive shock load when the clutch was engaged.
The "amps" in the back of the van were "just for show".

Pictures are one thing, an article is entirely another. Wish they'd bring it back for Monster class, this is the sort of thing it was designed for.

yeh i'd pay ten bucks jus to see/hear/feel it run for a few seconds

This is the 3rd topic in a week i've seen about it..
It is/was controlled by a computer, it doesnt and wont play music and its closer to an actual motor than it is a speaker.
