It would be greatly appreciated if all dB Drag Racing participants could "fly their dB Drag Racing colors" at the show. Mythbusters is making the trip to Daytona specifically to tape dB Drag Racing competitors. Competition jersey's, dB Drag Racing T-Shirts, etc. are HIGHLY recommended. (I will have free T-shirts available at the show.)

To show our appreciation for your effort, the dBDRA will give hood decals to all pre-registered contestants at the show. To qualify, you must pre-register (with SBN) and you must add the event to your personal event calendar on-line. You also need to put the decal on your vehicle for the duration of the show.

This is another great opportunity for dB Drag Racing. Let's make the most of it!

If you have a vehicle that can break a windshield on demand, please contact me. [/QB]

I like the last line, thats gold. I guess Team Broken Silence have a new calling in life ? To shatter their screen for TV haha.

Wonder what Myths they'll test ?
QC factor perhaps ? (33hz for anyone who's interested is aparantly the QC factor)
Exploding cockroaches ? (Thats a Myth, Alma's Bronco never exploded roaches but did squish the guts out of worms)
Brown note ?
Maybe the Fs of an eyeball ?

Can't wait, although it'll be probably next year before we get those episodes on our screens. sad.gif
Stooge007
they already tested the brown note myth.

used custom woofers that could play down to like 5hz, and like 30kw of power.

iirc, they swept from about 5 - 10hz, and surprise, surprise no mud flowed.

should be cool to have Mythbusters out there though!

I thought they could have tested the brown note better.

what SPL did they get for their test?

would need to be at least 130 dB - pretty hard out in the open.
Stooge007
but that is how the myth originated, i.e. an enemy force could play this so-called "note" to an advancing army (in the open).

Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll test the QC Factor on her ? tongue.gif
~Spyne~
qc factor??? someone fill me in on this please.

also, the bron note, although it make anyone lose control of their bowels, it did make a few of the crew feel ill
BlackIce
Yeah QC.. Quivering.. ermm, the anti-swear system catches the rest.
Foordy
How loud does the 33hz tone need to be played and for how long.
Could my 3515 do it, if so, what kinda power it need?

Not quite ohmy.gif

Car audio is only just getting to 180dB and that is in an enclosed space, out in the open they'd would get nowhere near that. 130dB sounds much more accurate.
Charger
I do believe they got up to ~150dB on the show. But that was higher port tuning so I think it was done at over 50hz.

Charger used to do 140dB @ 33hz smile.gif
Stone
Where'd they measure 150dB? Where the people were? Or at the port or cone?
Charger
I don't know so I can't answer that one.

Here's a website with all facts and stuff about that episode.
