not only do they have jet cars, they have Rocket cars....basically a car strapped to a missile......damn
homemade jet go-cart, not the one i was thinkin of, but cool anyway
and another

Top fuellers freak me out just standing near them when they start up.
I would hate to think of how much they must bounce and flex

They wouldnt move around very much at all I imagine, I'm an Aircraft tech and have ridden shotgun a couple times for F-111 (you know the ones that do the fuel dumps at indy) engine runs and you barely know its running till u get up near mil power or move it through into afterburner stages 1 through 5 even then its just a big surging feeling and the nose drops a a foot or 2 nothing overly rough. Roughest bit would be the initial takeoff from watching the vid the rest i imagine would be much smoother and easier then a normal drag car. As for the go cart if its similar to another one Ive seen he has just used a car/truck turbo and has added a combustion can in the piping between the compressor and turbine and has adapted a drive shaft of the turbo somehow onto some type of transmission, maybe it is using exhaust pressure but i doubt it, there would be to many aerodynamic and exhaust chamber pressure and velocity problems to sort out.

well maybe but if youve ever been near a top fueller you would know how much they twist and bounce. but your probably right cause the power isnt pumed to the ground as such its probably alot smoother

Yeah been to the top fuelers several times seen jet cars a couple times aswell both are awesome but in there own ways. Jetcars is always awesome watching the afterburner well in the case of the ones i saw its more of a fuel dump I dont think theyd gain that much usable thrust from it whereas the one on the vid looks like it has a proper afterburner setup.

i have seen a few jet powered drag cars at willowbank lately. Very cool, awesome to watch

Ive seen them at Calder ( VIC ) a few times.
They have to clear the stand behind the start line else people get burned.

yup thats all it is. as for the one i was thinking of, it had two small jetengines either side off the "pilot" wait, maybe they were rocket engines!!!actuall yi think they were rocket engines

jet engines can be very, very small.
theres a vid on google of a guy who went skydiving with two strapped to him, one on each ankle.
He managed to hold a 2000m altitude for 30 odd seconds before the fuel ran out (which was coming from two hot water bottles strapped to his body.
There was a guy who jumped with him, a camera man. The second those jets wound up, jet-man just dissapears way up above, a little speck rapidly moving laterally away from the cameraman

There are remote control jet planes...
I think there is a passanger plane and an F-18. They crashed one of them but I forgot which one but they were both bloody fast.

Yep Pulse jets, Ducted Fans, and miniture turbines. The availability of different models and designs is almost endless. From memory the Top speed record for model aircraft was still held well used to be i doubt it anymore with the popularity and develoment of miniture turbines, but it used to be well over 400km/h and that was with a prop driven pylon model these things average 300km/h+ around the courses they fly.

yeah near where some relos live there is a model areo club, and they have minature jet powered planes. its the weirdest thing to see and hear them, something about a metre long doing low level fly overs at 200km/h..they sound awesome as well

me got a short clip of jet drag car, which lifts off the ground when they hit the 'chute. lo0ks awesome. $hit everywhere when it hit the barrier on the way down of course, but it is a spectator sport, and "it's not tragic to die doing what you love." wouldn't the r.c planes make a mess at that kind of speed if crashed? surely not everyone has had a perfect landing on the first mission out? have seen a clip on "big-boys" about 6 months ago of an f14 wif jet power, lo0ked awesome.

HAHA yes RC aircraft are always messy when they crash. Crash a turbine one and say goodbye to a couple thousand and a few months work making it. Though helicopters are my fav to watch crash very spectactular very messy very expensive sometimes.
