Anyone know anything about these TDK Tremor speakers?

http://www.tdk.com.au/products/computer_pe...or_speakers.htm

Would they be suitable to hook up to my DVD/TV etc? They have their own amp correct?

What about SQ?
Decent bass?

Which of the three sets would be adequate?
Any idea on prices?

If these are not that good for DVD's what are some alternatives in the $200-$400 price range?
(I'm only looking for 3-piece systems BTW)

I have heard a set of these (cost was about $150 i think) not bad...

Check out altec lansing speakers... i love em hahaha

Many companies (Creative for example) do ones especially for home cinema...

if u get the computer ones u just gotta get an rca to 3mm plug ($3 or so each )
Chronos
Dude I have a set of the 60 watt tremors... that i want to sell...

They are bearely used... basically I bought them last year for schollies cause i forgot to take a stereo then packed em away cause i couldnt sell them at the time...

Wanna make me an offer? I don' think i have original box etc but i have the two speakers and subwoofer (which has the amp built in)

When I was looking for a new set of computer speakers about a year ago, I had a listen to the TDK speakers that retail for about $150. They sounded shocking. Bass distored really early, treble wasn't far behind. No mid range either. I got Logitech instead, which aren't great, but are heaps better than the TDK I listened too.

yeah dude, check out logitech and also yamaha. i used to work at the dicksmith powerhouse at moore park, you should drop in there as they have quite a few sets of speakers on display.

imo, the yamaha's sounded the best, followed closely by the logitech's. if you do end up at dicksmith at moore park, DO NOT pay retail. they will discount everything if you are persitent with your haggling!

alrighty has anyone got any links for the yahama or logitech stuff? what about prices?
Stooge007
go to http://www.dse.com.au and do a search for "logitech speaker". the yamaha ones don't seem to be up on their website though.

my mate uses this setup for his xbox and i really was not impressed

im sure they'd be worse for dvd?
i prolly dont want to spend $343 for the better logitech ones either;
http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefro...uct/View/XH7857

provided the TDK's sound ok id choose between;

http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefro...uct/View/XH7841

or

http://www.dse.com.au/cgi-bin/dse.storefro...uct/View/XH7842

cos prices seem reasonable.
anyone got prices for anything else for a 3 piece component setup under $250?

will be for dvd's only

Hey dude, I agree that you should go have a look at Altec Lansings offerings. I just picked up some XA3021s from Harvey Normans today for $139. They're so good, I think I'll be able to stop going out to the car when I wanna listen to music

are these your set?
http://www.altecmm.com/product_details.asp...ID=XA3021&sID=7

did you have to haggle the price down? from what?

are these fine for DVD?
everywhere seems to say they are gaming speakers, not DVD, but i guess it doesnt really matter?
Big_B
Yeah, there the one's I've got. They're usually $199, so they were marked down $60.

Since I've got them, I've played Diablo 2 on the 'puter, listened to heaps of music, & watched The Two Towers with them. Faultless. Dad had a listen & was so impressed he's going to get the 5.1 Pro Logic set to run his VCR & DVD player off. If I didnt already have a reasonable 4 speaker mini-system hooked up to my VCR/DVD/XBOX I'd prolly be after a set of the 5.1s too.

All the info for them is on the Altec Lansing site that you've already been to. And they come with cables to cover most connectivity situations.
I dunno where you'd buy them from, but at Harvey Normans, they had a preset demo recording vs basic TV speakers, that's why I decided to get these, cause I demoed them & they sounded terrific. And they have potential for bass too, I can make my whole room shake with any basic dance track .

Refer back to my previous post too, I no longer have to sit in the car to listen to music

The Altec Lansing's will give you some good sound and heaps of bass for under $200 there a great speaker but if you were to put the Yamaha's up against them I would pick the yamaha any day. Well I ended up going with em, but there getting hard to find as the Altec Lansing's are everywhere, if you go the Altec Lansing get the powercube

I've seen some Creative 2.1 sets on sale at DSE-PH for like $98 or $89 or something. Not sure of the model numbers, but would these be suitable for the computer? Would these be better than the above mentioned TDK's for $129?

I'm thinking of gettin the Altec's Big_B mentioned for DVD/TV and i may well get the same set for the computer. Any ideas?
