Hi,
I currently have a 97 Corolla as you can see in my sig.
Its done 170 000 k's and is in pretty good nic all around. Its always been services every 10 000 k's and this is all filled out in the log book.
Its got the stereo in my sig installed, with a big custom installation. This will with the car if I sell it. How much do you think the car and stereo is worth privately?
Next Question, can anyone give me some info, and anything they know first hand about BA falcons. I can get a 2003 BA XR6 for $13 000 off my uncle when his lease runs out. Would you recommend it?
Finally, can anyone tell me rego, insurance prices for this car - I am 21, never had a crash but never had insurance in my name before
thanks in advance,
edy
p.s. its not a turbo

Ohh, Non-Turbo XR6...
My olds have one, in the morning I'll ask what they pay. (Prolly be less than what you'd expect to since they are both on rating 1 for life thingys.)

Just Car Insurance quoted me $960. I am only 21 and that was for $2k of stereo.
I only want a sub/amp combo in this car.

dont sell your car with stereo, either you will never sell it or will ge the money you want for it.
now with insurance - you should have got it under your name when you first got your car cause now that you want to upgrade to something more expensive and sporty you might as well drop your pants, touch your toes and sing moon river cause there gunna rape your bum!
just cars i wouldent reccomend, nasty bunch from my dealings and from what i have read (do a search on them on here

)
other than that we had a BA for a while, not a xr6 and it was a nice car, thrashed the crapper out of it and it just keeped going.
plenty of poke too and enough room for anything and everything (including what the insurance company will wannna do to you!)

Yeah i know what your saying about insurance but my dad bought me the corolla and I paid him back and thats the way he wanted to do it so I did not really have an option.
I am liking the idea of this car more and more, do you think it is an ok price?

they did loose alot of value soon as they leave the factory floor!
have a look on carsales and see what there going for.

the insurance thing is a PITA. i dont have any under my name at the moment and havent since i had my bimmer 3 years ago, next year the eunos go's into my name so i dont know what to expect

Its done 70,000 k's, not too bad i dont think.
There are a few on ebay around the 24 000 mark. I can only get it if I can sell my system and get around 10 for my corolla.

$13000 for an NA XR6???
Go for it. With 70,000km on the clock that isn't bad at all mate. A guy I know payed 20 for his 04 XT with 40,000km on it.
Whats the condition of the car? body wise? even if it's not the best, the money you've saved can go towards repairing anything.
I can't help you out with the insurance question.
Also keep all your gear and put it in the BA. Does the BA have prem sound?

Hey
When I was getting quotes for my Statesman when I bought it (20 y/o - VS Supercharged 6) I had to ring a lot of companies - 15+. They had all told me that it didn't matter which name was on previous policies it all went on how long I had been driving without a claim. A few companies didn't even ask how long I had had insurance under my name, or how long I had been comprehensively insured for (1st car was under parents name). They all just put me straight onto a Rating 3 and quoted from that.
I was always under the impression that it went on how long it was under your name, but from making these calls last year I came to the realisation that it didn't matter - all that mattered was how long I'd been driving.
Would love someone from an insurance co. to clarify this

The body on it is perfect and so is the interior.
However, it does not have the premium sound and I could not afford to get the car unless I sold my gear and the corolla.
