hey guys ive been lookin to install a sub and amp in my car im thinking about a digital designs 12 sub and a jaycar response amp also a mate has offered me an orion 15 inch which sub would be better and is the jaycar amp alright or should i invest in something of higher quality cheers ryan

yep, definitely a beginners question but u are only knew, so we will forgive u this time - lol

orion make some pretty good subs, but we would need to know model numbers of the DD, Orion and Jaycar products before we say which ones we think are better than the other.
also, do u have a budget for sub+amp? this will also allow us to possibly suggest other products that may suit u better

I am in a similar situation as Ryan. I have the Jaycar 6.5" splits and the Jaycar AA-0426 amp, and I'm looking at getting 1 good quality, tight, sub. At the moment it looks like a single 12" sub unless someone can convince that another size is better for my needs. Also I am looking to spend around $200 for the sub with box.

Power / channel @ 4ohm 14.4V: 130WRMS x 4
Power / channel @ 2ohm 14.4V: 190WRMS x 4
Power / bridged @ 4ohm 14.4V: 380WRMS x 2


I will be running the amp in bridged mode. 2 channels to sub and the other two to my front speakers.

What sub would u recommend? Look forward to ur replies.
