I had a pair of morel dotechs in my doors but have managed to blow the mids and i want to scrap it and start over
i was looking around at some drivers on the net there are a set of focal 6.5 polyglass 165k mid woofers for sale on the forums im pretty set on buying those. the problem i had with the morels in such a big car (ba falcon) was that the sound wasnt consistent and it was very directional. because the way the speakers were mounted it was bassically firing at the center console and it didnt seem to fill the car very well ( thats why im looking at a more beefy setup)
i'm just deciding on a mid range driver to go with the focal drivers and also an alternate to the focals if the sale falls through.
i want to make fibreglass pods so the speakers are actually pointing to the driver and passenger and maybe mount the midrange in the stock position pointing up also.

i had a look at a couple pairs of mids on the net some dyn dome midranges i saw on ebay looked ideal but i got out bid. looking for a mid to cover say 1.5-2k till about 5-8khz smooth sound is essential.
budget is about 200 odd
also any mounting tips would be appreciated i'm very new to sq systems.
Gordo!
A good speaker placement thread is this one from the NZICEMAG forums. Scroll down to the bottom if you're looking for quick answers, but do sometime take the time to read the whole thread. It's definately worth the time taken.
