Vifa dual concentric ring radiator XT25TG30-04
91dB sens.
4 ohm

very detailed highs, dispersion is quite even, smooth off-axis response.

tested at HP=2.05kHz 24dB/oct butterworth.
for the money (RRP ~ $99 each) excellent value!

upgraded from:
Pioneer TS-C160R tweeters @ 5kHz

comment:
these Vifa's are waaaaaaay better than my old silk dome tweets.

I own a pair of these (currently in car, crossed at 3.5khz, 12db/oct), and a pair of Vifa D26 silk domes (currently in ice's car tongue.gif).
I've had these 2 side by side and the xt25's are more detailed, crisper and have a smoother top end.

Very nice tweeter indeed. Doubt you'd find a nicer one for anywhere near that sort of money too.
Liquidity
how about on/off axis response, sbiliance, mounting difficulties?

quite a few people have mentioned that they have bad off axis response, even the guys at A1 audio who manafacture whatmough speakers and use the XT25 in some of there hi end gear but after using them in the car off axis slightly they are quite good.

sybillance is not an issue really, they can have a little harshness up the top end, i have on my EQ -1dB at 15khz to get rid of it.

mounting can be a problem as there around 4in diamater!
but if you are really looking to get the most out of these then custom FG mounts wouldent be out of the question.

I have mine mounted off a half-moon shaped aluminium bracket (using only 2 screws - not professional looking, but work a treat.

mounting would be the same as a morel or dynaudio tweeter of the similar size.

I have not heard any harshness from mine, but I do have them slightly off-axis for imaging reasons.

..Bringing threads back from the dead....

as I'm in the market for some better preferable soft dome tweets and i have been recommended also theses in question.

how did you go about mounting , pictures, longevity, livability of the speaker and other comments. also installation wise passive or active and what gear used.

cheers
