i am having troble with my download speed when downloading from websites, i have azerus running and its fine , it will download at 150k but when trying to download a file from a web site it comes down around 4.9k. Do i need to forward some more ports or does windows suck.
I have two computers on the network and it is the same for both of them,
Any help would be appreciated.

Some websites only let you download that fast.

Then I do believe I am of no futher help.
But try doing what Ole` said and then try random stuff like turning the windows firewall off, it slows my speeds down heaps.
Could forward more ports but I've never had to forward a single port with my router so I wouldn't have a clue which ports to forward.

Are you using a proxy? Anything special? Turn anti virus and firewalls off see if it makes a difference, clear cookies and stuff? (I am throwing out random suggestions which may or may not have an effect)

How do you have it running that fast? The best I can get it 50k. Occasionally I get faster speeds on a web page but the max is usually about 50.
I've got a 1.5 connection and I always assumed it should go faster than 50. I've got a D-Link DSL-200 USB modem.
Anyone got some ideas for this problem?

Servers are slow.
File sharing programs people limit their upload speeds.

1.5 speeds should download at a touch over 150Kb\s, you should be able to get this downloading directly from your ISP. Try running a speed test as well.
50 sounds like 512 speeds. Sure you're on the right plan?

Yep, even when it connects it says "Connected at 1.5".

it can connect at 1.5 but if you're only on a 512k plan then that's the max you can get down your line. with a bit of tweaking, you can get your max download from 50kb to about 65kb.

What speed are you currently getting?
The MAX you'll ever get is 64KB per second
512b\sec \ 8 = 64KB per second. So if you are getting that or close to you're doing well.
I used to get about 61KB (55 down - 6 up) on 512\128.

not entirely true.
my parents have a 512/128 plan that i use when i go home on weekends. (to download torrents etc)
i can get 62.5kb down solid, and 16kb up max(about 13solid).
that's 78.5kb on a 512kbline...
like i said..you can do a bit of tweaking..
it can depend what you're running, and how it's configured.
anything from the provider themselves, to your max tcp connections, mtu size, outgoing/incoming connection limit for the program itself etc.
EDIt; here's a few speed tests...
http://www.dslreports.com/stesthttp://www.freecodemomma.com/speedtestdsl.phphttp://www.the-search-engine-optimizer.com...-speed-test.htmhttp://web.tampabay.rr.com/giis/there's some simple tweak programs i can direct you too..and some not so simple tips that involve some registry editing if you want more info.

i dont mind editing my registry manually, but if theres a program that can tweak or for me i'd rather go that option for simplicity
