How does one measure "loudest" from an amplifier.........

First you need to put in the boot of your VL or VN Commo, basically a car that rattles ALOT.

Then cut a few Chap Laps, when everyone looks at you, either in horror or disgust, then you know you have the loudest amplifier

no really the amplifier isnt loud, the speaker is what makes it loud.

The Crown's bloody loud, and probably the loudest amp you'll find.
Turn on, the duel relays click loudly, then it beeps loudly to let you know it's on, then all 6 cooling fans spin up to 7000RPM, the power side is inverting 12V DC into 240VAC so the 46 FET's hum. The VU Meter in the top makes a clicking noise as it pulses up and down..

This is why it lives behind a wall, so I cant hear it.

they can get pretty loud when thrown through a window (usually happens to be boss amps - if they dont burn first that is)

are u post-whoring angelo or did u meet a customer with 'limited' knowledge?

I guess they're used in more winning/record holding cars than other brands.

Do you know what a loud amp is.

You strap TWO and walk away with a record that will take some time to take down.

But then again the subs are the ones that were 2 db louder than the previous once.

To explain for others, in the recent Hot4's Magazine it has a full page advert by DD claiming that they have the loudest Subwoofers and Loudest amps!!! How can you have a loud amp? Wank**s!

1. When hard-core SPL competitors test amps back to back, they always compare output in dB

2. Every Street Class at the world finals was won using Z1s, it's a fact.

3. On a 12V battery nothing makes as much power as the Z1, nothing is more efficient, nothing is LOUDER.

A car is only as loud as it's amps.

so you can put an amp in the car and it will be louder then the other amp
is it cause it could be drinking
or the other amp might be a bit shy to go loud
or they might be intimidated by the amp walking beside them
or even the bouncer amp told them to quiet down

Does a single Z1 make more power then a surfboard at 12v?

Crown hold 2 world records right now infact, and took out 2 classes at Worlds, on 12V systems. There's your results right there.
Earthquake D2's have more cummulative wins in SPL competition history than any other amplifier ever.. and probably held more world records than any other.

how much noise it makes when you drop it from a second story window....or how loud the popping is when you clipp the sh!t outta it, or how loud it can get when you hit it with a sledgehammer......or you can hook it up to some subs, and test it, then hook the same subs up to another amp, and test those, and whoever is the loudest, wins.... not that hard

My Z1 is loud, infact.. it makes most noise when you turn it off .. with the MASSIVE thump/pop it has.

It scares people when they walk past my car, just as i've turned it off.
