or we have a few comps and just trying to play fames across them.
the comps use xp pro and one has ME. now the problem is when we goto play t is looking for an ipx network. the comp with ME is fine but the xp machines wont see ipx.
What can i do to fix this.
I have a rough idea on how to do most stuff with comps but i wouldnt call myself a geek yet. I have used ping and get feed back so the comps can see each other. what do i need to do now.
Thanks for any help given.

Install the IPX/SPX protocol......
Right click my network places, then click properties..... then right click Local area network and again go to properties.... click on install then double click protocol then double click the IPX/SPX protocal to install it .... after it installs it will most likley ask you to restart computer ..... and your done.....

If you can ping then there is no problem with the physical connection. Have you got the IPX installed in the network settings in control panel?

yeah i have installed the ipx protocol on both machines but when trying to play warcraft 2 it only picks up the ipx network on the Win ME system.
I can get warcraft 3 to work no problems so not sure what the problem is.

um just try burning the ME system for starters
another possible temporary fix for just gaming would be to disable all tcp/ip ip addresses and make them auto, but if u want normal networkability after that u'll have to put the ip's back in after
